About the Role

 

We are looking for an Enterprise Cloud Applications Architect for our office in Trevose, PA (USA) or Chiswick Business Park, London (UK) who proactively and holistically leads and supports EA activities that guide the development, enhancement and management of Infrastructure (On-prem, Cloud) platforms and solutions. This includes cloud platforms, infrastructure, networks, cloud applications and integrations between them. The role requires a balance of of strategic thinking, analytical and technical skills, and effective communication with Infrastructure & Implementation teams and business stakeholders in multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of Cloud Platforms and cloud application architectures across the group based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards.
  • Creates architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution implementation across products, services, projects and systems (including platforms, Infrastructure, applications, technologies, processes and information).
  • Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determines corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
  • Designs and directs the governance activities associated with ensuring cloud architecture assurance and compliance.
  • Defines the principles, guidelines, standards and patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
  • Supports product managers in EOL (end of life) product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire products, services or systems (including platforms, infrastructure, applications, technologies, processes and information).

Further Responsibilities

 

  • Develops a roadmap for the evolution of the cloud platform and application portfolio from current to future state.
  • Monitors the current-state cloud solutions portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used in the cloud, poor design or misalignment with business requirements.
  • Identifies the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the cloud architecture.
  • Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes.
  • Supports a community of practice (CoP), guiding and helping  agile teams, product owners, and architects to align with the overall enterprise architecture goals and vision.
  • Mentor and help to build the skill and experience of junior Architects. Coach non-architects to think like architects.

Qualifications

 

  • Expert level skill and practical experience architecting and implementing high performance, cost-effective hybrid solutions in the cloud, on-premise, SaaS etc. 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with at least 2 major cloud platforms. AWS and Azure preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of at least 2 major cloud platforms. AWS and Azure preferred.
  • AWS and/or Azure Solutions Architect Certification
  • Deep understanding and experience with modern infrastructure like SDWan, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience with multi-cloud management a strong plus
  • Expert level skill and knowledge in Microservices, containers, integration technologies like   APIs, ESB, Kafka, MQ, ETL/ELT, Change Data Capture (CDC), B2Bi and streaming data platforms.
  • Knowledge of various aspects of an enterprise technology architecture like business, information, data, network and security
