Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified OHA who is looking for a role that keeps them moving, exploring new locations, meeting new people and expanding their knowledge and skillset. The purpose of the role is to deliver a comprehensive Occupational Health Nursing Service in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Councils (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice (or equivalent). The Peripatetic Occupational Health Advisor will be required to travel to work across client sites UK wide as required. This role is full time (37.5 hours per week) Monday to Friday. You may be exploring a new location each day, and on days where you are not required to travel, you can work remotely from home instead. Fuel and accommodation expenses will be covered and overtime for travel can be claimed also. We are ideally looking for a candidate who is based in Scotland or the North of England. The travel remit will be across Scotland including the highlands, and some of the North of England primarily. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Maintain professional standards in accordance with current legislation and practice including relevant professional registration and continuing professional development.
•    Ensure clinical Occupational Health practices undertaken are in accordance with the International SOS policies and procedures.
•    Liaise with other case management stakeholders, such as client’s HR teams, in the management of sickness absence and with client’s HSE teams in the identification of risk and the development of risk prevention, control or management strategies.
•    Advise, review, and assist in the development of International SOS and Client company policies focusing on protection of the mental and physical wellbeing of employees.
•    Promote the business interests through a professional delivery of service and an awareness of new initiatives within International SOS.
•    Ensure that line managers are promptly informed of any evolving risks or issues in relation to service delivery.
•    Ensure that thorough clinical case notes are maintained for each patient seen in accordance with local policy.
•    Ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
•    Perform routine medicals (such as industry standard medicals, pre-placement medicals, substance abuse screening).
•    Perform Specialist medicals (such as working at heights, working in confined spaces, night worker’s medicals, lone worker’s medicals, driver medicals).

This role will cover the full suite of OH, including management referrals as well.
