Your Mission
The Drug and Alcohol Collections Technician plays a critical role in supporting occupational health and safety by performing accurate and compliant specimen collections for drug and alcohol testing. This position ensures the integrity of testing processes through the collection of urine, saliva, hair, and breath samples, calibration and maintenance of testing equipment, and adherence to all regulatory standards. Serving both clinic and remote locations, the technician provides timely and reliable collection services—including after-hours and on-call support—to meet client needs. With up to 50% travel required across Alaska and the lower 48 states, this role is essential for delivering consistent, high-quality testing services that help organizations maintain safe and compliant workplaces.
How You’ll Contribute
As a Drug & Alcohol Collections Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring compliance and integrity in occupational health:
- Perform a variety of specimen collections—including urine, saliva, hair, and breath alcohol tests—both in the clinic and in the field, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all regulations.
- Travel to remote locations across Alaska and the lower 48 states to provide essential collection support, with up to 50% of your time spent on exciting travel assignments.
- Deliver timely and reliable services for Beacon clients, including after-hours and on-call collections, as part of a rotating schedule.
- Calibrate and maintain breath alcohol testing devices to guarantee precise results and compliance with standards.
- Support clinic operations by handling general administrative tasks delegated by the Lead Technician or Clinical Services Director.
- Be a key player in our after-hours response team, carrying and answering the on-call phone on a weekly rotation to ensure clients receive prompt service.
The Talent We’re Looking For
- High school diploma required.
- 2-3 years drug and alcohol collections experience (preferred)
