Job Purpose:

 

The Staff Accountant will drive improvements in the month-end close and financial control process. This individual will assist in both the preparation and review of journal entries for month-end close as well as associated analysis of both the balance sheet and P&L. They will actively collaborate with the business partners to assess needs to improve accounting processes. The right candidate for this role will have excellent communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.

 

Location/Remote Work Policy:

Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees are required to work from the office 3 days a week. Office location in Trevose, PA, with planned move to Blue Bell, PA in fall 2025.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Assistance in the consolidation and reporting of all H3S North America legal entities monthly/quarterly/annual financial performance
  • Support the profit and loss variance to budget and forecast analysis on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. 
  • Provide guidance to global shared service relating to journal entries posting
  • Partner with Accounting and Sales functions to ensure general ledger accuracy and completeness, as well as identify and implement opportunities for improvement of close processes.
  • Assist the Controller in the review of journal entries prepared by global shared service teams.
  • Ensure that the centralized financial systems and related financial models present accurate data.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and general ledger entries, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Provide support and assistance as needed to the accounting teams, including providing cost center coding for non-routine/one-off expense items, required accruals, account balance research and other ad-hoc requests.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, within both accounting, payroll and operational environments.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with data-intensive financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) and Power BI a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate required skill set to be part of a high performing team.

  • Highly analytical, with proven ability to manage and analyze large amounts of data.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business demands.

 

Required Work Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Accounting or Financial Analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and their application to the business.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm preferred.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
