Purpose of the Job:
The Travel Risk Advisor will be a dedicated travel safety and security specialist providing client-specific support and advice to a specific Client Organization's workforce. The role will require a detailed understanding of the International SOS platform and tools by which to effectively and efficiently leverage the requisite expert regional knowledge in the International SOS Regional Security Centers in Philadelphia, London, Dubai and Singapore, as well as that of outposted security managers across several other countries. This is a remote position located in the United States. #Americas
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
International SOS Liaison
- Act as liaison across both health and security analytical support from International SOS, leveraging points of contact and regional expertise to augment Client Organization’s decision making processes.
- Be a key interlocutor and user with International SOS services to maximize value of the solutions and obtain early notification, of and deeper analysis into events or incidents that could affect Client Organization’s operations and workforce.
- Review day-to-day use of Client Organization’s International SOS service offerings and enable maximum utilization. Provide proactive suggestions for operations procedures adjustments based on case review.
- Keep Client Organization management updated about new developments and innovations, the Insight Report pipeline, other key thematic and geographic trends relevant to Client Organization interests/ exposure.
Analytical Support
- Produce targeted ‘thought pieces’ to provide strategic forecasting, early detection of emerging crisis, and operational guidance that will assist Client Organization to make informed decisions around risk prevention, crisis management and business continuity, ensuring a strong operational resilience.
- Provide provision of timely contextual information during an incident and advice on specific implications for Client Organization and appropriate escalation.
- Support Client Organization risk assessment, crisis management and business continuity functions where required, including during any operational planning and during escalations or crises.
- Collect, analyse, and disseminate security and health intelligence affecting Client Organization staff and/or operations in line with guidance from regional analysts, including monitoring key crisis escalation indicators.
- Present key findings and recommended actions internally within Client Organization in response to relevant emerging crises to enable business decision-making.
Travel Risk Management
- Monitor Client Organization employees via Quantum prior to travel to ensure compliance with Client Organization’s policies and governmental regulations. Review all travel information and offer assistance when required.
- Be well versed with Client Organization procedures that assure that travellers are well prepared, educated, informed and supported before, during and after travel should any security or health related issue arise.
- Provide response to incidents affecting Client Organization travellers and oversee emergency response plan alongside Client Organization designated point of contact(s). This includes provision of timely contextual information during an incident and advice on specific implications for Client Organization and appropriate escalation.
- Support on internal escalation planning and preparation initiatives.
- Provide tailored travel risk assessments as requested.
- Provide support for travel-related incidents on an as-needed basis, including outside of working hours.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Detailed understanding of the International SOS platform and tools by which to leverage the requisite expert regional knowledge effectively and efficiently
- Highly effective written and verbal communications in English; additional language preferred
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make clear judgments about the impact of security incidents on client activities
- Good organizational skills including ability to set goals, define objectives and plan for achievement

- Use of technology for data reporting and online/virtual delivery of services
Preferred Work Experience
- International work (security) experience
- Experience in security operations management: in military, government, or private sector roles
- International SOS security or operational expertise
Required Education/Languages
- Undergraduate degree (or relevant professional training) in a field related to security, risk management or international relations studies
- Fluent spoken and written English language
