Director of Nursing, Pacific

About the role

We are currently looking for a Director of Nursing to be responsible for providing strategic nursing leadership and clinical oversight for our Near Patient Nursing teams across South Korea and Japan with a supervisory interface for the regional centre in Singapore.

This role ensures effective governance, recruitment, retention, and professional development of the nursing workforce within these regional locations. The Director of Nursing serves as a visible and influential senior nurse leader who consistently models excellence in practice and upholds International SOS values to drive the success of the Pacific region’s nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Senior representative of our nursing workforce attending client meetings and workshops with the respective client teams and take positive action and steps to ensure alignment and accept feedback where required.
• Active supervisory interface with and leadership of the Pacific Near Patient Nurse Leads and their respective nurse teams.
• Drive the optimization and standardization of clinical case management globally through regular communication Nurse Leads. Ensuring consistent high-quality care of beneficiaries and the delivery of contractual KPIs.
• Supervisory interface with the Nurse Manager in Singapore, overseeing the platform contractual KPIs.
• Ensure that a professional, customer- and client-focused service is consistently delivered by the nursing teams.
• Act as a point of technical expertise and provide guidance and advice as and when required.
• Work with the Regional Medical Directors to ensure a seamless service in aspects of both medical and operational excellence, promoting positive working relationships and communication between the operational and medical teams.
• Leadership and supervision of the nursing workforce within the Near Patient Program, a visible senior nurse leading by example, and visibly promoting company values to drive success of the Near Patient Program.
• To build positive and effective relationships with Near Patient Program personnel, clinical and non-clinical and demonstrate an agile approach to problem solving where required.
• Working together with the respective Administrative Managers and HR business partners to ensure appropriate line management support is in place for annual leave, sickness absence, performance management and professional development, as well as providing recommendations for headcount based on these parameters.
• Key decision maker for nursing recruitment initiatives to ensure the right staff are hired for the right roles. 
• Oversee Nurse Leads in seeking high-performing recruits and creating development plans to address their specific needs, keeping the Regional Medical Directors updated on these plans.
• Key accountability for ensuring that each Nurse Lead and their respective teams are given sufficient support to enable them to actively focus on their personal and professional development.
• Oversee Near Patient case workload for the client program with monitoring, support and guidance for the Nurses in the pacific region. 
• Provide senior case direction, support and guidance to Near Patient Nurse Leads as required.
• Oversee the Nurse Leads role in ensuring that case management escalation occurs as per International SOS protocols, and that their teams are delivering effective case management to patients.
• Partner with Nurse and Physician Leads to support the daily handovers and adequate oversight of care coordination and case management aligned to the staffing models and active cases.
• Strong interface with the Pacific Leadership and operations teams to ensure seamless co-ordination regionally.
• Professional lead guiding Near Patient Nurse Leads in the Pacific region ensuring that all nurses keep up to date with governance and regulation pertaining to nursing registration

About you

• Registered Nurse with Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Post graduate qualification in nursing
• Post graduate experience +/ - qualification in managing nursing teams an advantage
• High level of broad medical knowledge
• High level of nursing managerial experience
• High level experience in delivering training to an internal and external audience (clients, other organisations, senior stakeholders)
• Previous experience of US or Five Eyes (FVEY) military or care and, preferably, TRICARE
• Previous experience of working in Japan and/or Korea
• High functioning IT knowledge and expertise in Microsoft and CRM systems
• Excellent verbal and written English Communication skills
• Japanese or Korean language an advantage
