Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Finance, Accounting Manager/Supervisor (Japanese & English bilingual), is responsible for statutory accounting, financial controls, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for Japan operations. The position partners closely with shared services and regional finance teams to support month-end closing, audits, and compliance.
Description:
- Ensure timely, accurate and complete recording of transactions, to facilitate P&L and Balance Sheet reviews and account reconciliations
- Support the month end and year end close process
- Support of year-end financial audit
- Support process improvements efforts and documentation of workflows
- Ad hoc analysis and special projects.
- Ensure compliance to General Affairs Policy and Procedures (GAPP)
- Ensure compliance of accounting/reporting treatment in line with Group requirements, including treatment for new products
- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local accounting and tax standards
- Ensure compliance in accounting / reporting treatments in line with Group requirements
- Supervise, actively manage and develop his/her team and direct reports
Requirements:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including team supervision
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP
- Experience in multinational or fast-paced environments
- Advanced Excel skills; accounting systems experience preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Native level Japanese
- Business level English
