Lead Security Assistance Across Asia
International SOS stands as a global leader in health and security services, dedicated to supporting organisations and individuals by providing comprehensive health, security, travel risk, and assistance solutions worldwide. In the pivotal role of Security Director, Assistance, Asia, you will spearhead the regional Security Assistance function. This involves managing and enhancing the delivery of security advice, incident management, crisis response, evacuations, and operational support services across the diverse and dynamic regions of Asia.
Your leadership will ensure the deployment of proactive and reactive security measures tailored to the unique challenges faced by clients operating in complex environments. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will help shape innovative strategies and solutions that protect clients’ assets and personnel, ultimately driving resilience and continuity for organisations under your guidance.
As a key figure in the organisation, you will influence security policy development, foster partnerships with local and international security agencies, and oversee the integration of intelligence into actionable assistance plans. Your role will be crucial in maintaining International SOS’s reputation for excellence and reliability in security support services.
About the Role
The Security Director, Assistance, Asia, is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and developing the regional Security Assistance capabilities within Asia. This position requires directing a talented team to deliver high-quality, intelligence-led security assistance and crisis response services, ensuring client safety and operational continuity in often complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Security Assistance function across Asia.
- Oversee delivery of security advice, incident management, crisis response, evacuations, and operational support.
- Lead and develop Security Managers and Security Specialists.
- Act as the senior escalation point for major security incidents and crises.
- Maintain regional operational readiness through planning, exercises, and contingency management.
- Oversee quality standards, operational improvements, and best practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Support consulting engagements, client presentations, workshops, and training activities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Medical, Intelligence & Analysis, and Consulting teams.
- Maintain and develop regional security partner networks.
- Support business development initiatives and client engagement activities.
- Travel within Asia and internationally when required.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 10+ years in security, intelligence, crisis management, risk management, military, law enforcement, government, NGO, or private sector security roles.
- Team leadership and people management experience.
- Experience managing incidents, crisis response, evacuations, or security assistance operations.
- Experience advising senior stakeholders and clients.
- Regional Asia experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong security risk management expertise.
- Good understanding of Asia's security and geopolitical environment.
- Strong crisis management and decision-making ability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse complex situations and provide practical security advice.
Qualifications
- Degree in Security Studies, International Relations, War Studies, Risk Management, or related discipline.
- Relevant security or risk management certifications preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Additional Asian language skills are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel across the region.
- Availability to support after-hours operational requirements during incidents and crises.
