As the Regional HR Operations Director for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), you will lead the human resources function for this dynamic region, overseeing operations that include recruitment, employee retention, labor relations, compensation and benefits management, as well as training and professional development programs tailored to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

 

*This role is based in Mauritius and relocation is offered.

 

Description:

Your responsibilities extend to partnering closely with business managers and unit leaders to provide strategic HR advice and implement solutions that align with our medical services operations. By spearheading change initiatives and developing innovative human resources approaches, you will support business expansion into new markets and ensure the optimal delivery of our clinical and support services.

 

You will manage and mentor a talented team encompassing a Talent Acquisition Specialist, a Senior Manager for People Operations and Engagement, and a People Operations Coordinator, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture that reflects International SOS’s commitment to equality and inclusion.

 

Additionally, you will coordinate with the MSBL Global Center of Excellence on specialized HR functions such as reward and recognition, talent management, development programs, and recruitment methodologies. This role requires close collaboration with external HR consultants for targeted projects and strategic human capital initiatives.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate not only a strong technical expertise in HR operations but also an ability to navigate the complexities of multi-country regional management, exhibiting exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills that enable you to drive impactful outcomes in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Requirements:

Do you have the following:

  • Hands-on experience building the HR capabilities in various African countries for a global company
  • At least 15 years of experience with significant experience as a successful HR generalist, including significant and strong “stand-alone” experience of leading an HR function at a senior level in an international multinational environment.
  • Experience of working in a complex multicultural matrix organization.
  • International exposure and experience of working and living overseas would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working in emerging and remote sites and markets is essential.
  • A track record of successful HR leadership in driving people/organization development and change management.
  • Strong customer service orientation while able to drive specific HR agenda.
  • Proven hands on capabilities in employee/industrial relations, with a firm grasp of employment law/practices in AFRICA.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to engage with a very diverse employee population at all staff levels.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing people.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity.
  • A relevant HR field operation experiences in recruitment, development, retention and management in the medical, Oil & Gas and mining sectors are a must associated with a HR degree qualification or equivalent
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written English language skills.
  • Fluency in French, Portuguese and/or Arabic would be an added advantage.
