Your Mission
As an Occupational Health Nurse, you’ll lead proactive health initiatives that keep workforces safe, healthy, and productive. You’ll design and monitor occupational health programs, reduce lost-time injuries, and collaborate across teams to drive wellness and compliance. How You'll Contribute
As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding employee health and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards:
- Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain a comprehensive Occupational Health Policy tailored to the specific needs of our client. Continuously update policies to reflect current local regulations and best practices in occupational health.
- Staff Health: Design and implement targeted programs aimed at the prevention of work-related injuries and promotion of overall staff wellbeing. Administer medications, immunizations, and other health interventions as required by client needs with professionalism and care.
- Work-Related Injury Management: Provide expert monitoring and support for employees returning to work post-injury. Offer professional advice and coordination related to injury management to facilitate a successful resolution of health issues. Maintain meticulous and confidential records related to injury cases. Collaborate with external health specialists and internal stakeholders such as Return to Work Coordinators and Safety Officers to manage rehabilitation processes efficiently.
- Health Monitoring: Perform regular health screenings and monitoring activities aligned with client agreements to ensure occupational health standards are met. Support the client in adhering to relevant legal and statutory requirements to reduce risk and liability.
- Reporting: Generate and deliver detailed, timely reports to client management regarding health surveillance, injury trends, and program effectiveness, aiding in informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Management and Communication: Maintain organized, accurate documentation and manage follow-ups related to your role. Attend and contribute thoughtfully to meetings as scheduled or requested. Foster effective communication channels with internal teams and external partners to ensure exceptional service delivery, positioning our offerings above competitors.
The Talent We’re Looking For
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
• Work experience as an Occupational Health Nurse
• ACLS
• Occupational Health Nurse Certification
• Exceptional collaboration with other groups and the ability to work under pressure
• Current registration with BC College of Nurses
• Audiometry & Spirometry
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Alignment with our values of expertise,passion,respect and care
Preference for:
• Experience in an industrial setting
• A high level of knowledge and the ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
• Hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
