As Near Patient Physician Lead, you will play a central leadership role in ensuring U.S. Military beneficiaries in Germany receive high-quality, coordinated care within the host nation healthcare system.

This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise, leadership, and international healthcare coordination. You will work directly with military medical leadership, German healthcare providers, and International SOS teams to remove barriers to care, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen healthcare delivery across borders.

You will influence how care is delivered at scale guiding clinical standards, mentoring physicians, and shaping the success of the Near Patient Program across Germany.

Key responsibilities

Provide medical leadership and shape healthcare delivery

  • Lead the Near Patient Program in Germany, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred, and compliant care delivery

  • Act as the senior clinical voice supporting operational and strategic healthcare decisions

Influence and collaborate at senior levels

  • Serve as the key medical liaison between International SOS teams, U.S. Military medical command, and German healthcare providers

  • Build trusted relationships with military medical leaders, hospital physicians, and healthcare partners

Mentor, guide, and develop physicians

  • Train and support Near Patient Physicians and clinical teams

  • Share expertise on international healthcare systems, military medicine, and care coordination

Improve healthcare systems and patient outcomes

  • Identify barriers to care and implement solutions to improve coordination and access

  • Ensure quality oversight, governance, and continuous improvement

Represent International SOS within the global medical community

  • Engage with military healthcare leadership and key stakeholders

  • Contribute to program development, reporting, and strategic planning

About you

You are a physician ready to expand your impact beyond traditional clinical care and step into a leadership role within international healthcare.

You bring:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) qualification with minimum 5 years post-graduate experience

  • Full medical registration and licence to practice in Germany

  • Specialist training in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, ICU, Aviation Medicine, Tropical Medicine, or similar

  • Fluency in English and German

You are someone who:

  • Wants to influence healthcare delivery beyond individual patient encounters

  • Enjoys leadership, collaboration, and mentorship

  • Is confident working across complex healthcare systems

  • Thrives in roles combining clinical expertise with strategic and operational impact

Experience with military healthcare systems, international healthcare coordination, or evacuation medicine is advantageous but not essential.
