About the role

The Security Specialist, Information & Analysis (I&A) is an integral member of the regional security I&A team. Under the direction and guidance of the Chief , I&A, and the Security Managers, I&A [for Asia], the Security Specialist, I&A will undertake the collection and processing of information & analysis to provide timely security assessments and advice to International SOS’ clients and internal stakeholders, through primarily, but not exclusively, written reports.
The Security Specialist, I&A will be tasked with ensuring client-facing security standing information is up to date, relevant and reflective of the current situation, contributing to security assistance operational planning and readiness tasks by targeted research against specific security information requirements.
The Security Specialist, I&A is expected to collaborate closely with the Content Services professional community of researchers, multimedia specialists and editors to deliver a shared vision of audience-centric and multimedia digital production.
The Security Specialist, I&A will also be tasked with the delivery of high-quality security risk assessments, advice and the coordination of security assistance on a profile and itinerary-specific basis to travellers, international assignees, domestic nationals, and client risk managers, as required by roster and surge requirements. The Security Specialist, I&A will also support on an ad-hoc basis with the delivery of security I&A consulting deliverables, client engagements and contribute to projects relating to functional enhancements, such as the evaluation of collection tools, delivery of escalation matrices etc.
On a rostered basis, the Security Specialist, I&A will provide support to other regions in the identification of, and alerting client and internal stakeholders to, relevant high-impact, time-sensitive security events in those regions.

Key responsibilities

Core Client Support:
•Ensure client awareness of the current security environment in countries in the region(s) through all- source research, processing and analysis in line with the lead security centre priorities.
•Report and escalate security or disruption issues affecting International SOS’ clients in line with reporting guidance and thresholds.
•Ensure standing client-facing security information is up to date and reflective of the current risk environment and International SOS’ analytical and operational position.
•Contribute to the delivery of forward-looking security I&A in support of standing and dynamic priorities.
•Contribute to operational planning and readiness as required by conducting research into specific security-related questions in order to inform International SOS’ operational posture.
•Contribute to ensuring International SOS has a best-in-class security I&A and Assistance operation by participating in projects relating to functional enhancements, such as collection tools and trainings.

Deliver verbal and written security risk assessments tailored to an organisation or individual’s s profile and itinerary, escalating to senior management as required.


Consulting Delivery & Sales, Marketing Support
•As required, deliver safety and security trainings and workshops as well as engage in client specific security intelligence consultancy tasks as required.
•Support the Sales and Marketing teams in the articulation of International SOS’ services and in providing functional expertise in client facing forums such as webinars
•Support the production of escalation matrices and other consulting deliverables as required.
Personal Development:
•Build an understanding of all current events affecting the regional security environments and learn the best practices in implementing an operational all-source intelligence cycle as well as security risk mitigation, incident response and crisis management planning
•Attend a structured induction programme focusing on developing research and analysis skills in addition to security risk assessments, as well as wider training courses relating to the work of security risk mitigation as agreed with line management.

 

About you

Required Skills and Knowledge 
•Strong knowledge of the political and security landscape within the region
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to explain complex situations to non- expert audiences in English.
•Ability to critically analyse multiple streams of information under time pressure and produce actionable insights.
•Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other applications.

Required Work Experience 
•Proven experience in security intelligence or related field: military, government, NGO, journalism; relevant academic studies.
Preferred experience:
•Experience in writing to senior management and decision makers.
•International work experience.
•Experience of working in a customer/client focused role.


Required Qualifications 
•Undergraduate degree (or relevant professional training) in a field related to security, risk management, international politics or international relations.
•Master’s degree in similar fields an advantage.


Required Languages 
•Excellent spoken and written English language.
•Other language proficiency desirable .


Travel / Rotation Requirements 
•Some travel, sometimes on urgent request.
•Day shift work including occasional overtime based on operational requirements.
