Overall Purpose of the Job
The Sr. Product Manager, Travel Operations is responsible for driving the travel category's planning and product creation process from concept through commercialization. This role acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Travel product across all areas of Aspire Lifestyles.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth: Help drive the growth of Aspire Lifestyles’ Travel Business, focusing on revenue and profit generation through strategic product management.
- Business Planning: Assist the Global VP in identifying opportunities and creating business strategy plans to address strategic goals.
- Project Leadership: Responsible for all aspects of travel projects including scope, planning, resource designation, budget maintenance, and progress monitoring.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as an essential linkage between Service Delivery, Engineering, Digital, and the product team to communicate goals and performance.
- Roadmap Management: Manage the Travel Product roadmap for features from inception through implementation, collecting requirements and establishing KPIs.
- Partnership & Negotiation: Establish and negotiate strategic partnerships with air, online travel partners, and luxury service providers.
- Data Analytics: Analyze customer behavior patterns, travel requests, and product margins to determine the right marketing and pricing strategies.
- Architecture & Design: Work closely with the engineering team to aid in designing the architecture needed for clients and partners to integrate with the travel product.
- Team Guidance: Provide leadership to Training and Quality Assurance managers to ensure consultants are proficient in converting travel requests into bookings.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of product management experience in the travel industry.
- P&L Management: Proven ability to deploy product, marketing, and pricing strategies to manage a travel P&L.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) including Sabre, TravelPort, and Amadeus.
- Financial Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with pragmatic commercial business acumen.
- Operations Expertise: A "Doer" with excellent attention to operational details and experience in project management.
- Global Mindset: Culturally sensitive and effective in a multicultural, matrixed environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of local India travel rules and laws, and travel partners in the Preferred Travel segment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s Degree is a plus.
- Travel: Ability to travel approximately 20-25% of the time.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence people at all levels.
