About the role

The Group Business Continuity Manager (GBCM) is responsible for business continuity program management across the International SOS Group.

 

The GBCM covers, but is not limited to:

  1. Oversees the development and implementation of the program’s governance framework and supports its ongoing administration
  2. Engages with the heads of business lines and functions and their key officers to agree the strategic direction of the Business Continuity Program and their respective responsibilities in assuring resilience
  3. Serves as an advisor to business line and functional heads on business continuity planning, disaster recovery and incident response. Acts as a coach to senior business leaders in the event of disruptive events.
  4. Provides support at site level as a subject matter expert in business continuity plan development and assists in building local competencies in risk assessment, business impact analysis, BCMS administration, plan maintenance, and training and exercise execution.
  5. Owns the BCMS and ensures effective exploitation of its capabilities to support organisational resilience

Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following activities:

  • Develop and maintain Group policies, standards and procedures for business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Act as Secretary of the Resilience Committee and ensure it functions in accordance with its terms of reference.
  • Complete implementation of the Meridian BCMS across the Group.
  • Develop a plan and prepare the organisation to achieve and maintain accreditation to ISO22301
  • Manage the Business Continuity Management System and act as the business owner and a super-user/global administrator for the system
  • Conduct six-monthly access reviews of the BCMS and supervise the utilisation of the system
  • Provide quarterly reporting to the Business Resilience Committee on the state of BCPs across the Group

Qualification & Experience

Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Continuity Manager or similar role
  • Minimum 3 years’ program management including Business Continuity Governance, Operational Risk Management and Operational Resiliency
  • Knowledge of risk management and business continuity standards (ISO31000, ISO22301, etc.)
  • Deep experience conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses
  • Experience in the design, development and facilitation of crisis management and business continuity exercises

Required Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA in Business Continuity/Operational Resilience, Security, Intelligence, Information technology or related field; MSc/MA is a plus
  • Certification in business continuity (e.g., CBCI, MBCI)
  • In lieu of a degree qualification minimum 10 years’ experience as a Business Continuity Manager/Director
