We're Hiring: Medical Director – Assistance | Mauritius
International SOS Mauritius is looking for an experienced and dynamic Medical Director – Assistance to lead our medical operations and ensure the delivery of world-class healthcare assistance services across multiple international programs.
Based in Mauritius, this strategic leadership role combines clinical expertise, operational oversight, people management, and client engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our medical assistance services consistently meet the highest standards of quality, governance, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all medical assistance activities within the Mauritius Assistance Centre, ensuring excellence in case management and service delivery.
- Provide medical leadership and governance across key programs, including International Assistance, Travel Assistance, Occupational Health, and other specialized client programs.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of medical professionals, driving performance, engagement, training, and succession planning.
- Supervise complex medical cases, patient evacuations, repatriations, and medical transportation activities, ensuring adherence to International SOS standards.
- Collaborate with operations, network services, quality, and commercial teams to enhance service delivery, strengthen provider networks, and support business growth initiatives.
- Drive continuous quality improvement through clinical governance, case audits, service recovery initiatives, and implementation of best practices.
- Represent International SOS in client meetings, business development activities, and professional healthcare networks to support strategic growth and strengthen client partnerships.
What We're Looking For:
- Medical Doctor with 10+ years of post-graduate experience
- Significant leadership experience as a Medical Director or within a senior medical management role
- Strong background in Emergency Medicine, ICU, Anaesthetics, Occupational Health, Travel Health, Tropical Medicine, or related specialties
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced international environment
- Fluent in English and French
