About the role

To ensure the operational readiness, safety, and reliability of fleet vehicles and mobile treatment centres through proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and effective utilisation of diagnostic systems, supporting the delivery of Integrated Health and Emergency Services.

 

This is a full-time in person role based out of our Leduc office. The hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with on-call rotation.

Key responsibilities

•    Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform necessary repairs on fleet vehicles and mobile treatment centres.
•    Accurately complete all required documentation, including repair orders, inspection forms, and maintenance logs.
•    Carry out both major and minor mechanical and electrical repairs on gas and diesel-powered vehicles.
•    Utilise the Geotab Telematics system for remote vehicle diagnostics, performance monitoring, and proactive maintenance planning.
•    Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and internal standards for all preventive maintenance activities.
•    Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment; promptly report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor.
•    Mount and unmount mobile treatment centres as operationally required.
•    Coordinate and schedule outsourced repairs when necessary, ensuring timely and cost-effective service.
•    Respond to service calls, including field-based support for vehicle breakdowns or urgent repairs, including participating in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for fleet-related issues.
•    Conduct road tests to validate reported issues and confirm the effectiveness of completed repairs.
•    Service and maintain Espar heaters and other auxiliary vehicle systems.
•    Ensure vehicles leave the shop clean, correctly branded, and roadworthy
•    Perform other duties as assigned to support operational readiness and fleet reliability.

Required Work Experience 
•    Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably in a fleet or industrial setting.
•    Experience with both gas and diesel engines, as well as electrical systems.
•    Familiarity with Espar heaters and mobile treatment centres is an asset.
•    Prior use of fleet management systems such as Geotab is preferred.
•    Experience operating fork lift trucks and telehandlers in a warehouse, construction, or industrial setting,


Required Qualifications 
•    Automotive Journeyperson Certification or Red Seal Endorsement
