About the role

The FinOps Engineer is a critical role for an effective and efficient use of our cloud resources and strongly impacts the financial success of our products and services, as well as the cost modelling for future services. We are looking for a data-driven FinOps professional to bridge the gap between our Engineering, Finance, and Product teams. In this role, you will be the primary architect of our cloud economic strategy, ensuring that every dollar spent on AWS and Azure is optimized for business value. That will include token management on our AI tools and products. You will move beyond simple cost-tracking to build a culture of "cost as a metric," implementing automated governance and strategic commitment models.

At International SOS, our mission is to safeguard the global workforce against health and security risks while delivering specialized medical services to our clients. Headquartered in Singapore, we are a high-growth, fast-paced organization. Our culture thrives on entrepreneurship, fuelled by a strong sense of purpose: saving lives and protecting people every day. We empower our staff, fostering an energetic and challenging work environment that encourages individual growth. As part of our global outlook, you’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams to tackle significant challenges. We welcome self-driven individuals who aspire to make a meaningful impact.

  • Waste Elimination: Identify and automate the cleanup of orphaned resources (e.g., unattached EBS volumes, idle Azure SQL databases, and abandoned snapshots).
  • Financial Governance: Partner with Finance (FP&A) to produce accurate weekly / monthly cloud forecasts and explain budget variances based on technical roadmaps. Establish a recurring rhythm (reviews, reporting, and action tracking) to drive adoption of optimization recommendations and improve accountability.
  • Anomaly Detection: Configure automated alerts to detect and investigate sudden cost spikes, coordinating with DevOps teams for rapid remediation.
  • Investment advisory: Advisory based on the FinOps insights on product investments and budget cycles for IT leadership.
