Overview:

The Senior Network Services Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and optimizing International SOS’s regional network of medical, security, aviation, and logistics providers. Based in the Johannesburg Assistance Centre, this role ensures the regional provider network is high‑quality, cost‑efficient, compliant, and fully aligned with business needs across all service lines.

The position oversees network strategy, governance, quality assurance, provider relationships, commercial enablement, and operational support, while collaborating closely with medical, security, operations, finance, sales, and global network teams. The role also manages a Network Partnership Relationship Manager and acts as the primary point of contact for Network Services in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of the regional Network Development Plan.
  • Drive network quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain strong governance of provider data and payment processes.
  • Oversee audits, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Network Development & Quality Management

  • Ensure the network is right‑sized, compliant, and meets program and client requirements.
  • Conduct provider assessments (onsite and remote) to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with medical, security, and aviation experts to align provider capabilities.
  • Identify and onboard new providers and service offerings.

3. Provider & Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key providers.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, discounts, and long‑term agreements.
  • Resolve provider performance or quality issues.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure timely provider payments.

4. Business & Operational Support

  • Support complex operational case management.
  • Lead network‑related programs and projects, ensuring timely delivery and accurate costing.
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing on proposals, product development, and revenue opportunities.
  • Support system improvements (e.g., SPIN) and staff capability development.

5. Service Delivery Oversight

  • Develop operational guidelines and best practices for challenging locations.
  • Assist commercial teams with tender pricing and proposals.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

Experience

  • 5+ years in Healthcare Management.
  • Strong experience in network or account management, ideally with a provider network in the region.
  • Proven success in commercial negotiations and partnership development.
  • Project management experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in multicultural environments.
  • Team leadership skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analytics.
  • Knowledge of medical networks or healthcare systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Healthcare Management or Business Administration preferred).
  • Medical qualification is a strong advantage.

Other Requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional regional languages are an asset.
  • Ability to travel regularly at short notice.
