Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Head of Contract & Delivery Excellence is responsible for ensuring effective contract execution and service delivery performance. The role leverages standardised processes, systems, and tools to act as the regional focal point for contract management, understanding and dissemination of contractual requirements, operational reporting, and process adherence, ultimately driving compliance, profitability monitoring, and continuous improvement across all active contracts.

This role bridges the collaboration between the HQ Operations Excellence function, HQ Sales & Commercial Excellence function and regional Operations teams, Client Success teams, Finance/ FP&A teams. This position is elevated to additionally drive Vanguard initiative adoption, system usage adherence (Oryx Suite), and regional best practice dissemination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the regional focal point for contract governance, responsible for monitoring contract profitability, billing accuracy, performance, and compliance to contractual requirements.
  • Support the business in implementing and managing commercial contracts through contract management processes. Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure mitigation of risk and maximising of opportunities, in compliance with internal escalation guidelines.
  • Ensure implementation of the project/contract plan with client sign-off, translating scope into executable action plans that include all terms, conditions, and documentation.
  • Work closely with finance, HR and operational teams to ensure proper billing procedures are established and agreed with clients ahead of project kick-off to optimise Contractual Invoice Time (CIT) and Collections %.
  • In conjunction with regional finance teams, ensure expected project profitability forecasts are prepared and used to monitor actual vs. planned performance.
  • Support site operations and mobilisation/demobilisation activities, ensuring adherence to defined processes and QMS standards.
  • Review end-to-end processes (mobilisation, demobilisation, supply, system adherence) and support improvement initiatives.
  • Draft workflows with responsibility for each part of the deliverable (Operations, Medical, MSS, etc.).

Job Profile

  • Strong track record in contract management, delivery governance, and operational compliance. Having exposure in managing Government contracts and public tender management is a strong plus.
  • Commercial acumen: ability to interpret contractual obligations and translate them into operational execution plans.
  • Initiative and attention to detail: proactively generates analysis and findings, develops checklists and quality assurance techniques.
  • Communication: actively listens, builds rapport, and develops relationships at all levels including with clients.
  • Planning and organisation: formulates clear, structured plans; prioritises tasks effectively; establishes milestones.

Required Work Experience

  • 5+ years in contract management, project implementation, or operations delivery roles.
  • Experience in contract compliance monitoring, reporting, and interpretation of contractual obligations.
  • Worked in cross-matrix reporting structures within multinational organisations.
  • Hands-on with day-to-day operations with high attention to detail.
  • Degree in Business, Management, Law, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate studies in Law, Business Administration, or Contract Management are a strong plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process improvement certification is a plus.
