Overview
The Costing and Pricing Specialist is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and compliant costing and pricing strategies for medical supply bids and tenders across the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The role ensures profitability, commercial success, and the integrity of the medical supply catalogue while supporting strategic decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Costing & Pricing
- Build and validate cost models for products, services, logistics, and overheads.
- Analyze supplier quotes, market data, and historical trends to set competitive pricing.
- Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability.
- Maintain pricing databases and ensure data accuracy.
2. Catalogue Development & Management
- Maintain and update a comprehensive medical products/services catalogue.
- Ensure accuracy of product specifications, pricing, and availability.
- Coordinate introduction of new products and removal of obsolete items.
- Create client‑specific catalogues for tenders and ensure compliance.
3. Bid & Tender Management
- Review client requirements and tender documentation.
- Prepare and submit pricing components of bids per regulatory and client standards.
- Collaborate with Sales, Commercial, Legal, and Supply Chain teams.
- Track bid outcomes and analyze pricing trends.
4. Commercial Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct margin analysis and scenario modelling.
- Provide pricing recommendations and support negotiation processes.
- Produce regular reports (pricing performance, win/loss analysis, market insights).
5. Compliance & Quality
- Ensure pricing proposals comply with internal policies and all regulatory requirements.
- Support audits and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Profile Requirements
Experience
- 3–5 years in costing, pricing, or commercial analysis (ideally in medical supply).
- Experience in bids/tenders and knowledge of Incoterms/logistics preferred.
Skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Team‑oriented and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commercial acumen and customer‑focused mindset.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Pharmacy qualifications are an added advantage.
Languages
- Excellent command of English.
- Arabic, French, or Portuguese is a plus.
Travel
- Local travel (approx. 20 km radius) and infrequent MEA regional travel required.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license and own transport required.
Work Environment & Safety
- Required to follow all Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
- Job may involve moderate physical activity (lifting 10–23 kg occasionally)
