Your Mission
Plans, directs, and supervises the emergency activities of auxiliary rescue team members, provides training for those members, and maintains rope rescue equipment and apparatus.
Key Responsibilities
Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities:

Ensure team members receive proper training, supervision, and protective equipment.

Ensure compliance with safety laws and client/International SOS policies.
-
Use hazard and risk management practices to keep the team safe.
-
Report and document all hazards and incidents.
-
Participate in inspections and support safety initiatives.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
-
-
Follow International SOS supervisor standards.
-
Set priorities, assign tasks, and maintain workflow.
-
Enforce safety rules and site policies.
-
Represent International SOS professionally.
-
Promote respectful behavior and model safe work practices.
-
Participate in toolbox meetings.
-
Administrative Responsibilities:
-

Inspect and document all rescue equipment and PPE.
-
Ensure contract requirements for inspections and training are met.
-
Complete required reports and maintain certifications.
-
Oversee rescue training and training records.
-
Ensure permits and documentation are approved before high‑risk work.
-
Assist with drills and maintain rescue pre‑plans.
-
Provide standby rescue services as required.

Emergency Operations Responsibilities:

Lead the rescue team during emergencies.
-
Identify hazards and ensure safe operations.
-
Provide tactical advice and determine required resources.
-
Assign tasks and ensure they follow procedures and match skill levels.
-
Oversee trainees during incidents.
-
Monitor and adjust the incident action plan.
-
Conduct post‑incident debriefs and complete required reports.

The Talent Were Looking For
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
- NFPA 1006 High Angle Rescue Technician
- Tower Rescue Certification (preferred)
- NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor Level 1 (preferred)
- ICS 100
- CSTS
- Fall Protection
- Experienced Rescue Team Supervisor
- Experienced Rope Rescue Trainer/Instructor
- Site-Specific Requirements as Indicated at Hire Date (i.e. orientation, WHMIS, TDG, etc.)
Required Competencies
- The ability to maintain and apply safety standards.
- The ability to plan, organize, manage, and administer activities requiring coordination with others.
- The ability to accept responsibility, to make decisions, to delegate responsibility and to motivate subordinates toward a coordinated effort.
- The ability to work effectively with employees, other contractors and the client.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with employees, other contractors and the client.
- The ability to act effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
- Basic computer skills that include knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Required Work Experience
- 5 + years of relevant industry experience
Travel / Rotation Requirements
- 10 days on, 4 days off.
- Day shift only.
- As some work sites are considered remote locations, change outs may be adjusted due to inclement weather conditions or other situations.
