Your Mission
Plans and directs the emergency and non-emergency activities of their assigned emergency response team.
Key Responsibilities
Occupational Health & Safety
- Understand tasks and use proper training, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and promote safe work practices.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and site safety programs.
- Support a positive safety culture.
- Report all hazards, incidents, injuries, and illnesses immediately.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Follow International SOS Fire & Rescue officer duties.
- Set priorities, assign tasks, and manage team workflow.
- Ensure team compliance with client policies and professional conduct.
- Lead emergency and non‑emergency activities.
- Develop and maintain emergency response and tactical plans.
- Ensure fire/life safety equipment is inspected and maintained.
- Track equipment, materials, and consumables.
- Submit daily logs and attend required meetings.
- Collaborate on hazardous work planning.
- Train ERT and auxiliary teams.
- Respond to fires, spills, rescues, and medical emergencies.
- Mentor new hires and maintain apparatus and facilities.
- Stay current with site procedures and complete required training.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed.
Emergency Operations
- Maintain regulatory practice standards.
- Lead rescue team operations during emergencies.
- Provide medical support within scope and follow escalation processes.
- Coordinate with outside agencies in unified command.
- Identify hazards and take steps to control them.
- Advise client/AHJ on rescue operations when required.
- Follow client, AHJ, and SOS emergency policies.
- Monitor and adjust incident action plans.
- Conduct post‑incident debriefs and assist with investigations.
- Escalate appropriately to the Response Centre and Medical Director.

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
- HCP Level CPR with AED (current)
- WHMIS
- Class 3/4 Driver’s License with Q endorsement (or higher)
- NFPA 1001 Level 2
- NFPA 1072 or 472 Hazardous Materials Response - Operations Level (minimum)
- NFPA 1002 Driver Operator
- NFPA 1006 High Angle Rescue – Technician
- NFPA 1041 Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Level I
- ICS 100, 200
- H2S Alive
- Site-Specific Requirements as Indicated at Hire Date (i.e. orientation, physical, WHMIS, TDG, etc.)

- Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
- Basic computer skills that include knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Required Work Experience
- 2 + years of relevant industry experience is an asset
