Purpose of Job
Provide quality diagnostic images and laboratory services procedures to all personnel working on the site as per Scope of Practice consistent with The Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain standards consistent with The Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists and professional licensing and scope of practice
- Comply with International SOS Laboratory and Imaging Services Procedures and Processes
- Compliance with all Intl.SOS and Regulatory Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Safe Work Practices
- Maintain standards and working knowledge according to the required service deliverables for the position
- Comply to the Intl.SOS Integrated Quality Management System and Continuous Quality Improvement Program
- Comply with Customer Service requirements and customer service excellence
- Manage Patient Administration and Record Keeping, including Medical Records storage and retrieval, entering patients into the electronic system whilst maintaining patient confidentiality
- Maintain accurate patient records as per the Documentation – Medical Records procedure
- Maintain accurate records of all laboratory tests, managing of sampling and specimens as per the Laboratory Services Procedure, including Workers Compensation Cases
- Maintain laboratory and Imaging equipment as per Manufacturer’s guidelines and required checklists
- Ensure internal / external QC processes for the laboratory are maintained as per the Laboratory Services procedure, overseen by Medical Director.
- Maintain equipment calibrations for both laboratory and imaging equipment as indicated by the Manufacturer Guidelines and Intl.SOS Standards, including daily, weekly, monthly checks and cleaning.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment as per the Incident Reporting and Management procedure to the Line Manager.
- Deliver Imaging Services as per Imaging Services and other Imaging procedures.
- Participate / perform additional duties and responsibilities as per management request outlined in the contractor’s scope of work
- Maintain stock inventory as per the Pharmacy – Storage and Dispensing procedure
- Ensure all laboratory reagents are available / in stock, within date and are managed according to the Cold Chain Management System and Pharmacy – Storage and Dispensing procedures
- Ensure infection control practices are followed as per the Infection Control – General Practices Guidelines and equipment daily cleaning checklists; i.e. cleaning of bucky and table after diagnostic examinations.
- Participate in scheduled meetings, committee meetings and / or working groups and other activities as requested
- Participate in the continuous quality improvement program through identification of hazards and risk as per Site Risk Register
- Prepare laboratory and imaging activities reports and other reports as per requirements
About You
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
· Certification from the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists
· CPR/AED HCP
· ACLS
· CSTS
· eGSO - Orientation through ENFORM
· H2S Alive
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
· The site we are hiring for is located near Fort McMurray.
· Flights are out of Calgary and Edmonton.
· Shifts are 14 days on and 14 days off.
