About the role
We are currently seeking a Coordinating Nurse to join our Medical team in Dubai. The role is responsible for providing clear direction and clinical oversight in the delivery of professional and effective medical assistance services to clients of International SOS, ensuring the highest standards of excellence are consistently maintained.
Key responsibilities
Pre-Trip Travel Advice:
- Keep up to date with rapidly changing health trends, endemic health risks, pandemics and their impact on global health infrastructure.
- Become familiar and highly competent in navigating internal and external public health resources to provide the most tailored advice for clients pre, during and post travel.
- Conduct tailored travel risk assessments and provide advice regarding recommended travel vaccinations and pre trip preparedness for both individual travellers and clients.
- Perform a health needs assessment for clients to determine the availability of the required health resources in order to determine their suitability for deployment.
- Work closely with the International SOS Medical Information & Analysis team and Security experts to provide tailored solutions.
Network Services & Referrals

Coordinate medical referrals and admissions through the global assistance network

Identify appropriate providers based on clinical needs and quality standards

Liaise with medical facilities to ensure safe and appropriate care

Support expansion and review of the medical provider network
Medical Case Management

Manage and prioritise active medical cases

Ensure clinically appropriate, evidence-based case handling

Obtain and review medical reports from treating providers

Collaborate with medical and operational teams

Develop regional healthcare knowledge (Middle East focus)
Medical Transportation

Assess fitness to travel and recommend appropriate transport (air ambulance, commercial, escort, etc.)

Coordinate safe medical evacuations and repatriations

Liaise with airlines and air ambulance providers for clearance

Maintain medical transportation standards and compliance
Governance & Service Excellence

Ensure accurate documentation, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance

Provide clear medical handovers between shifts

Deliver high-quality, client-focused service

Work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
Required Work Experience & Qualifications
- High level of consolidated experience in acute care
- Previous medical assistance experience desirable, not essential
- Previous public health and/or travel health experience desirable, not essential
- Registered General Nurse in home country
- Public Health and/or Travel Health Degree desirable, not essential
