Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

To be responsible for and provide clear leadership in the delivery of professional and effective medical assistance and/or Work Health services for clients of Intl. SOS to the highest standards of excellence in conjunction with the Medical Directors, Medical Assistance Coordinating Doctors and Nurses.

Key responsabilities

Medical Assistance


Participate in Medical Assistance Doctor roster
Ensure medical due diligence and case direction for all assistance cases
Provide medical advice, referrals, monitoring, and coordination for evacuations and repatriations
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation

 

Medical Assistance Services


Assess and respond to medically related calls from clients
Provide telephone medical assessments and advice
Organize and supervise medical assistance, including obtaining medical reports and monitoring patient conditions
Medical Liaison and Reporting
Communicate with clients, patients, and medical officers
Produce professional medical reports and maintain confidentiality
Liaise with client medical departments and insurance companies

 

Medical Transportation


Maintain International SOS Medical Transportation Standards
Assess and coordinate medical evacuations and repatriations
Act as a medical escort when required
Network Services and Referrals
Ensure patients are referred to appropriate medical providers
Update information on medical providers and facilities

 

Case Escalation


Escalate cases as per International SOS protocol to relevant medical directors and advisors
Promotion of Services
Participate in business development activities
Explain International SOS medical services to clients

Required Work Experience:


Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience
Minimum 5 years private sector experience in Emergency Department or suitable General/Family Practice


Required Qualifications :

 

MBChB or MBBS
Medical Council of Mauritius Registration
Post-graduate qualification/experience in Occupational Health, Emergency Medicine, Travel/Tropical Medicine, Family Medicine (advantageous)
ATLS, BLS, and ACLS (advantageous)

 

Required Languages


Excellent written and spoken French and English
