About the role

In this role as the Operations Officer, Offshore, you will : 

 

Provide operational management and coordination of support for all International SOS Offshore Medical Services activities consistent with client contractual management commitments across the Middle East Africa region and the direct operations management of offshore medsites in assigned countries. This includes: 

  • supporting or directly managing the interface between contractual offshore client representatives and International SOS interlocutors of Medical Services.
  • developing international SOS / offshore client relationships Medical Services.
  • working as an integrated team with offshore medical and commercial leads to ensure clients’ needs and perceptions are clearly defined, and that International SOS is delivering the expected and agreed level of service.
  • tracking regional offshore assets and working closely with MEA cluster/country operations & medical teams to ensure staffing mobilization/demobilization/handovers are completed in relation to contractual requirement.

Key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include: 

  1. Support Operations Teams: Manage responsibilities in assigned countries without local teams.
  2. Site Management: Set up, mobilize, manage, and demobilize sites per IntlSOS standards.
  3. Client Collaboration: Work with clients to define needs and ensure operational excellence.
  4. Policy Application: Implement ISOS policies, procedures, and quality assurance consistently.
  5. Data Systems: Utilize company data systems like Oryx etc.
  6. Tender Oversight: Assist sales services with regional offshore tenders for project profitability.
  7. Site Visits: Plan and visit clinic facilities and remote sites; report progress and issues.
  8. Medical Services Maintenance: Ensure facilities meet professional standards in staffing, equipment, and patient care.
  9. Documentation: Maintain necessary documentation for inventory, stock, accounting, and administration.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Support integrated systems for continuous improvement and best practices.

About you

  • Excellent organizational skills, and high-level problem-solving competency
  • A strong understanding of Health, Security and Environment awareness
  • Offshore industry knowledge, aand / or clinic administration or similar healthcare management skills
  • Demonstrable history of successfully working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • An understanding of stock control systems and supply chain logistics.
  • Prior experience working directly in the offshore oil & gas industry or associated offshore related industry.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations management and/or leadership experience
  • Familiar with medical and/or HSE environments
  • A management qualification (i.e., operations or project management) with 5 years plus post-graduation experience or equivalent demonstratable professional experience
  • A health Professional background (i.e., Nurse or Paramedic) is an advantage.
  • Proficient level of English and Arabic 
  • Knowledge of an additional relevant language is a plus.
  • Regular travel required to remote sites, inclding scheduled and routine travel to Middle East and Africa locations
  • Occasional international travel may be required for conference/training attendance
