About the role
- Deliver financial reporting with proper internal controls and ensuring accuracy of accounts booking meeting regulatory requirements.
- Support Financial Accountant, FP&A and the Billing team towards achieving all Service Quality KPI and strategic objectives of Via Medica Iraq.
- The current scope may vary and expand to cover additional workload within Iraq.
Key responsibilities
- In charge of booking of Trade and Non-Trade Payables with correct analytical dimensions according to the PTP process
- In charge of the process periodic and ad hoc payments in an accurate and timely manner with zero tolerance rate of “double-payment”.
- In charge of billing and issuing invoices to clients in a timely manner
- In charge of AR/Interco in terms of AR and Intercompany transactional activities
- Follow month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely delivery of both financial and non-financial reports, and in compliance with IFRS and Group policies for accounting and reporting
- Responsible for the integrity, accuracy and completeness of the accounting records and reporting the information to our internal clients
- Run depreciation and revaluation on monthly basis
- G&A P&L review with Financial Accountant – Team Lead
- Post invoices and deferred revenue from INCA, deferred revenue BS reconciliation
- Calculate, record, monitor accruals and prepayments on monthly basis
- IFRS16 calculation and journal posting
- Assist with year-end closing process and ensure timely production of audited accounts
- Perform ad hoc assignments as and when required
Skills and competencies
Profile :
- BS degree in Accounting or related course is required
- Minimum 2 years of public and/or private accounting experience.
- SAP Knowledge is required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP / IFRS), income statement and balance sheet items is a must
- Able to work with a diverse group of people from different backgrounds and culture
- Organized and able to multitask
- High computer literacy, such as in Excel, Word and Powerpoint is expected, whilst prior experience with COGNOS, SUN Systems and/or Vision Excel will be advantageous
- Ability to analyze / solve problems in a fast paced environment with multi-tasking capability and commitment to meeting set deadlines and deliverables
