About the role

The Finance Officer will be responsible for the smooth day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations of International SOS’ Iraq business, based in Basra. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with group policies, while supporting management with financial analysis and decision‑making. The position also contributes to process improvements and may support special projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial reportingManage day‑to‑day accounting operations, budgets, and statutory audits
  • Oversee cash handling, internal controls, and financial compliance
  • Coordinate with shared services teams and regional finance teams
  • Manage banking, treasury, leasing, accounts payable, and supplier paymentsSupport tax planning, audits, and relationships with banks and external partners
  • Provide financial and business analysis to support local operations
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance and accounting processes

Required Profile

  • Strong accounting and financial control background
  • Analytical, hands‑on, and results‑driven, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Proactive communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to adapt to change and contribute to future team leadership

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ post‑graduate experience in finance or accounting
  • Experience in a multinational, fast‑paced service environment preferred
  • Exposure to clients, auditors, banks, suppliers, and legal advisors
  • CA, ACCA, CPA, or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or local equivalent)

Language Requirements

  • English: fluent (mandatory)
  • Arabic: an advantage
