Overall Purpose of the Job
This position is responsible for managing the finance and accounting function of Aspire Lifestyles Thailand, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance, effective financial controls, cash management, budgeting and forecasting. The role serves as a strategic business partner to the Business Development and Operations teams by providing commercial finance support, pricing governance, profitability analysis, and financial insights to drive sustainable business growth and operational efficiency. The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with Group policies and procedures while supporting business decision-making through financial analysis and operational performance monitoring.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and reported in accordance with Group policies and accounting standards.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Maintain integrity of financial data within SUN Systems and related reporting platforms.
- Coordinate with Regional Finance and Shared Services teams to ensure consistency in accounting treatment and reporting.
Financial Planning, Analysis & Business Partnering
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities for the Thailand business.
- Analyze financial and operational performance, identify key trends and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Partner closely with Business Development and Operations teams to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Monitor key financial and operational metrics, highlighting risks, opportunities and improvement initiatives.
- Develop financial models and business cases to support commercial, operational and investment decisions.
Pricing & Commercial Finance
- Lead financial evaluation of client proposals, tenders, renewals and commercial agreements.
- Develop and maintain pricing models, costing methodologies and profitability analyses to ensure sustainable margins.
- Partner with Business Development and Operations teams to validate pricing assumptions and service delivery costs.
- Evaluate the financial impact of new business opportunities, contractual changes and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct profitability analysis at client, contract and service level, providing recommendations to improve commercial performance.
- Support contract negotiations through financial analysis, commercial insights and risk assessment.
Tax, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Manage corporate tax, withholding tax and VAT/GST filings, reconciliations and related audits.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory authorities on compliance matters.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure adherence to Group policies, procedures and governance standards.
- Support internal and external audit activities and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage cash flow, working capital and banking activities for Aspire Lifestyles Thailand.
- Oversee bank payments, reconciliations and cash positioning to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and provide recommendations to optimize cash management.
- Maintain relationships with banking partners and support treasury-related requirements.
Payroll Reconciliation & Financial Controls
- Review payroll-related reports and ensure payroll costs are accurately reflected in the financial records.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and prepare related accounting entries and accruals.
- Reconcile payroll balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Partner with HR and payroll providers to ensure completeness and accuracy of payroll-related financial information.
- Support payroll-related reporting and audit requirements.
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Continuously enhance finance processes, controls and reporting capabilities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive automation, standardization and system improvement initiatives across finance operations.
- Lead finance-related projects and support business transformation initiatives where required.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and business partnership across the organization.
Qualifications & REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Sound understanding of local tax regulations, statutory requirements, and financial governance practices.
Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or commercial finance.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, pricing, and profitability analysis.
- Experience partnering with Business Development and Operations teams to support commercial decision-making and business growth.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax management, audit coordination, and internal controls.
- Experience in reviewing commercial contracts, business cases, and pricing proposals.
- Experience working within a multinational or regional organization is preferred.
- Experience in a service-oriented industry would be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP and financial systems such as SUN Systems, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of pricing methodologies, cost allocation, margin analysis, and profitability management.
- Ability to analyze complex financial and operational data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Language Skills
- Fluent in Thai and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong business communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with local, regional, and global stakeholders.
- Ability to prepare and present financial reports, business cases, and management presentations in English.
