Opportunity

We are seeking a Full-time Family Practice Physician to work out of our Anchorage Coalition Health Center location. The Family Practice Physician is expected to support both clinically and administratively provider staff at Clinical sites at the discretion of the respective Country medical director.

 

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious physician who has recently completed their residency and is looking to take on a patient panel as well as leadership duties, under the mentorship of a senior physician. This role offers collaboration opportunities with team members on complex cases across three clinic sites.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted license to practice in Alaska.
  • Board certification/eligibility in Family Practice.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.


Experience:

  • MD/DO with outpatient primary care residency.
  • Willingness to develop leadership and management skills.
  • Interest in private healthcare/business systems.
  • Commitment to performance management principles.
  • Ability to foster client relationships and develop account management skills.

Key responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary care, including exams, treatment, and referrals.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medication and therapy.
  • Perform medical procedures within scope.
  • Manage patient care and health status.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Educate patients on healthcare-related behavior.
  • Document in electronic medical records (Athena).
  • Collaborate with PA and NP team members.
  • Obtain DOT certification within 3 months of hire.

 

Clinical Governance:

  • Implement Clinical Governance Program and monitor performance.
  • Escalate clinical incidents and conduct investigations.
  • Ensure competent clinical service delivery.
  • Review medical records and provide guidance.
  • Develop Continuous Medical Education (CME) plans.
  • Manage medical risk exposure.
  • Management and Administration:
  • Provide leadership on medical issues.
  • Facilitate teamwork and communication.
  • Set standards and performance appraisals.
  • Ensure clinical services training participation.
  • Participate in clinic inspections and audits.
  • Maintain equipment and workplace safety.
  • Act as a role model for safe work behaviors.

 

Medical Quality:

  • Ensure medical services meet quality standards.
  • Familiarize staff with policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on medical operations performance.
  • Review and respond to medical complaints.
  • Oversee clinical education programs.
  • Client and Business Development:
  • Participate in networking events to strengthen brand awareness.
  • Manage relationships with Sales and Marketing for new business.

Contingencies
