Job Purpose


The Systems Engineer position performs operational support, capacity planning, configuration management (move, adds, changes) and administration for the company's Data Center, Server, Storage, IP and Network infrastructure, to meet company and departmental goals and standards for availability, capacity, security and quality.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for company network & Information systems.
  • Coordinate and manage activities of the company’s engineering team and oversee programs to train and manage network and information systems engineering resources and other third-party service provider.
  • Primary interface responsible for network and information systems related services carried out by the company’s service providers.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with SLA’s and other commitments, and provide management reports and other qualitative data to measure the effectiveness of service provided.
  • Understand and communicate company’s networking design and implementation standards to assure accurate service delivery to be delivered by service provider as required.
  • Responsible for the development, documentation, and communication of all new network & systems modifications and/or enhancements to support projects.
  • Provide IT staff training and technical support to the user community on use of information /network systems.
  • Responsible for systems/network contingency planning and documentation including disaster recovery and BCP.
  • Participates in the development of system policies and procedures in accordance with company, PCI, and SSAE 16 standards; contractual obligations and industry best practices.
  • Assists with the definition and enforcement of security standards in accordance with industry standards.
  • Performs rotating on-call and provides 24x7 network support.
  • Domestic and International travel will be required.


Required Skills and Knowledge:


  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies; TCP/IP, IPsec, VPN, VTP, Trunking, Spanning Tree (STP/RSPT) VLAN, Ether Channel, HSRP, SPAN/RSPAN, NAT, DNS, SSL, SNMP, QoS, EIGRP, HA design and optimization
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills - Experience working with Wireshark and SolarWinds
  • Knowledge of Storage, Windows operating systems, VMWare, Citrix
  • Knowledge in security systems and methods; AAA, TACACS+, Radius, IDS/IPS, Centralized logging, and Event Management systems
  • Knowledge working in PCI environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco network device configuration.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in structured, problem-solving methodology.
  • Strong knowledge of network security fundamentals to provide design guidance.



  • 5+ years full-time experience maintaining network and information systems.
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Excellent customer focus; must have demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to interact with our customers in a professional, mature manner, as well as dedication to providing superior service.
  • Effective communicator at all levels of the organization, and outside with customers or third parties.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills. Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
