Overall Purpose of the Job

The role of Security Project Specialist will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of assigned security and health projects by way of being accountable for scope, cost, schedule, contract, and risk management as well as quality and customer satisfaction of all assigned projects. Additionally, the position involves direct interaction with clients to assist in building and, if necessary, managing aspects of their security program, reinforcing our commitment to meet their unique needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Coordinate the Security and Health Advisory Project Portfolios.
•    Execute assigned Projects on time, within planned cost and to forecast.
•    Act as a point of project management contact for internal and external stakeholders on assigned projects.
•    Assist in the delivery of security consulting projects
•    If tasked, serve as a dedicated client specific resource for travel security and/or intelligence analysis
•    Development of project proposals, and detailed project plans and schedules to monitor and track progress
•    Interface with providers, subcontractors, technical teams, and customers to align project specifications and requirements to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
•    Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
•    Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects 
•    Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
•    Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical and operational feasibility
•    Ensure resource availability and allocation
•    Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
•    Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques
•    Manage the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders
•    Perform risk management to minimize potential risks
•    Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
•    Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals 
•    Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
•    Ensure strict adherence to International SOS integrity, quality standards and safety procedures at all times
•    Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Knowledge:

•    Proven working experience in project management
•    Highly effective written and verbal communications in English; additional language preferred.
•    Strong analytical skills and ability to make clear judgments about the impact of security incidents on client activities;
•    Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
•    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
•    Excellent PC and MS Office skills and demonstrated ability in creating presentations for External and Internal reviews in PowerPoint
•    Experience with project management software tools

Required Qualifications
•    Undergraduate degree
•    Up to 3 years of professional working experience
•    Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

 

Required Languages
•    English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

 

Travel/ Rotation Requirements
•    Minimal travel required
