About the role
The Certified Medical Assistant will work in a fast-paced clinical setting supporting the medical team with patient intakes and inquiries, records maintenance and basic patient screenings.
We are presently staffing for a FT Medical Assistant for one of our industrial client sites within the Port Arthur TX area. The hours of this position will be Monday to Friday 7:00AM-5:00PM
Key responsibilities
- Verifies patient information, medical histories by interviewing patients, documenting medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; drug & alcohol screening, pulmonary function test, respirator fit test; and reporting patient history summary.
- Assist in injury care
- Takes patient vitals
- Performs phlebotomy service and gives injections.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Enters patient data into EMR and assist NP/Paramedics onsite with Medical Record Keeping & Data Entry
About you
Required Skills and Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience
- 2+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant required
- Occupational Medicine experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or equivalent (TX)
Required Languages
- Excellent written and oral English
