A. Overall Purpose Of The Job

Pediatric Physician Assistant (PA) main function is to provide healthcare for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults under 21 years of age. Pediatric PAs are crucial in the timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of illness, disease, and injuries. The pediatric PA will be required to educate the patients and their caretakers on physical, psychological, growth and development. 

B. Key Responsibilities

•    Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, and communication of issues.
•    Ensures proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment and recovery and requests necessary tests and follow up visits and refers pediatric patients to specialists as necessary.
•    Provides healthcare to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.
•    PA may be on call as needed 
•    Other duties as assigned.
 

C. Job Profile

 

Required Skills and Knowledge (Brief description of technical knowledge or skills needed to perform the job)

•    Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA).
•    Pediatric experience preferred

 

Education/Certification Required:
•    Current and unrestricted license from any US State, District of Columbia or US Territory to provide healthcare within scope of practice.
•    Certification as a Physician Assistant issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or a comparable certification body.
•    Current American Heart Association or Red Cross approved Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
•    DEA License.


Physical Requirements:
•    Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
•    Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
•    May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

 

Other Special Qualifications:
•    Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
•    US Citizenship is required.  
•    Must be able to relocate to Germany.
•    A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Germany
