Specific Responsibilities

What if we said you could play an integral part in building and developing a world-class medical model ? In this role, you will have that opportunity, as well as using your nursing background to provide comprehensive clinical and emergency response care to on-site workers. 

 

You will use your expertise to:

  • Support the safe operation of the shift team by monitoring compliance to safety rules and standards
  • Provide commitment to the quality, integrity, and value of health services while working with an interdisciplinary team of occupational health and safety professionals
  • Lead the support treatment room operations, maintaining a deep understanding of the principles, concepts, practices, standards, protocols, guidelines and regulations
  • Oversee and actively participate in clinical teaching activities and protocol development and evaluation
  • Build advanced, comprehensive and focused health assessments, diagnose health problems, prescribe medications to treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and order and interpret diagnostic investigations as required
  • Support integrated disability case management and facilitate fitness to work assessments
  • Be accountable for treatment room initiatives pertaining to on-site workers in a dynamic work environment
  • Communicate effectively on applicable information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner

  • Must-haves (minimum requirements):
    •    Work experience as a Nurse Practitioner
    •    Exceptional collaboration with other groups and the ability to work under pressure
    •    Leadership experience, education or professional development
    •    Current registration with CARNA
    •    Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, holding a Master of Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent
    •    A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
    •    Alignment with our values of expertise,passion,respect and care


    Preference for:
    •    Experience in an industrial, emergency or critical care setting and experience with health surveillance testing and programs
    •    A high level of knowledge and the ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols,  policies and procedures
    •    Technical knowledge of health and wellness programs, standards and processes, including disability case management, return to work programs, medical surveillance and wellness programs
    •    Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
    •    Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
    •    Hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same


    Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

    •    You will work out of our camp-based client site. Accommodations & meals provided
    •    The working schedule will be 14 days on and 14 days off rotation
    •    On-call and extended hours may be required after hours when operational and business requirements indicate
    •    You may be required to travel to other sites
