Job Summary:


Overall Purpose of the job:

•    This is a Data Operation Manager position working as a member of a development team on our flagship product to create new features and improve scalability. 

•    Data flows through our systems from various sources to build a strong, clear view of travel information. Understanding how these different data interact is key to troubleshooting and managing the system as it grows and evolves. The Data Operation Manager will not only manage the database technology but also tend the data and its unique relationships.

Key Responsibilities:



•    As a Data Operation Manager, you will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and data scientists within the organization developing software solutions helping to deliver insights into customer and network behavior that drive business decisions shaping the future of Intl SOS
•    This role will collaborate with many cross-functional teams on the planning, execution, and successful completion of technical projects with the ultimate purpose of improving customer experience
•    The role will manage data analysts, data engineers, and DBA to create a scalable and stable data platform for Intl SOS business lines
•    This also involves storing and exposing data via a Database, Data Lake, and other APIs
•    Use existing tools and processes to deploy to integration and production environments
•    Maintain the health of the data ecosystem by configuring monitors, defining alerts on common failure points, and giving feedback on data quality to data owners and business partners
•    Test software, validate data, and write automated tests (unit, integration, functional, etc.)
•    Review peer code and submit thorough and actionable feedback based on team standards and industry best practices
•    Triage and resolve production issues
•    Implement systems to balance data volume, latency, and customer requirements and Produce high-quality code that is robust, efficient, testable, and easy to maintain
•    Deliver operational automation and tooling to minimize repeated manual tasks
•    Influence product roadmap and help cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact
•    Join rotation to support production workflows during off hours

Job Profile:


Required Skills and Knowledge 
•    Proficiency with MS SQL or related RDBMS
•    Experience with AWS: S3 Data Lake, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Glue, ECS, RDS
•    Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: .NET, Java, C++, Scala
•    Experience with managing a Data operation team.
•    Adaptable to Windows, Linux, and container-based deployment environments
•    Experience with Security & privacy principals 

Required Competencies 
•    Advanced working relational SQL knowledge (MS SQL) and experience working with NoSQL databases, including DynamoDB, Postgres or Cassandra with JSON, XML
•    Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
•    Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.
•    Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
•    A successful history of managing and mentoring team(s),
•    Database Development following Best Practices and Patterns
•    Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
•    Excellent collaboration and communication skills
•    Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
•    Superb follow-through and ownership of deliverables
•    Ability to work with team members across the globe

Required Work Experience 
•    10+ years of experience in a DBA role, attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field. 

Required Qualifications 
•    Computer Science or related discipline

Required Languages
•    Excellent written and spoken English

Travel / Rotation Requirements 

•    On Call rotation
