Overall Purpose of The Job

The Director Security Solutions, North America Consulting (DSS) will drive security revenue growth and the effective coordination and delivery of security consulting and managed services in the region within scope. The DSS will oversee the provision of support to International SOS Consulting North America distribution channels to drive customer satisfaction and profitable growth across relevant business lines in security consulting solutions. They will help to translate the Security Services’ strategic vision into clear priorities and actions, driving the day-to-day delivery of Security Consulting in the region across two pillars (Travel Risk Management, Intelligence). This role will serve as the senior level consultant and peer reviewer on all Security engagements as well as overseeing the relationship with external security consultants.


Key performance indicators for this role include: 
•    Identify consulting and managed service opportunities in collaboration with Consulting Engagement Directors, regional Security Partners, Security Assistance and Security Information and Analysis teams and in-country commercial teams. 
•    Act as a subject matter expert on security for consulting solutions; attend meetings with strategic clients and prospects to scope solutions and drive client engagement. 
•    Ensure high quality delivery of consulting solutions across travel risk management, crisis management and intelligence, in line with client expectation and International SOS Consulting standards. 
•    Attract, supervise, retain, and contribute to the development of security consulting professionals in the region, including external consultants, to support sustainable commercial and operational growth of the Consulting Practice and across all relevant business lines. 
•    Actively engage in appropriate social, professional, media and networking activities and events which strengthen International SOS Consulting brand recognition in the security and risk management industry.

Key Responsibilities


•    Provide professional security expertise to drive consulting opportunities through regional and global/cross border engagement with clients and prospects. 
•    Drive security consulting priorities and targets in close collaboration with the consulting Practice & Engagement Directors, regional Security Partners, Security Assistance, Security Information & Analysis teams, and in-country commercial teams. 
•    Engage in security consulting and managed service solution design and delivery in support of the Consulting global agenda, bringing regional input and experience to solution development and deployment. 
•    Drive execution and delivery of Security Consulting in the region, including building a high-quality, scalable security consultant capability in close coordination with Consulting Practice HR and administration and regional Security Partners. 
•    Act as a security consulting subject matter expert to support the Consulting Engagement Directors, Account Management and Business Development teams to maintain ongoing relationships with key clients and identify consulting solutions to complement their International SOS Consulting subscription services; elevate International SOS Consulting to trusted advisor status for key clients in the region. 
•    Responsible for the continuous improvement of any security consulting delivery within the region as per the Quality Management System and ISO. 
•    Collaborate with regional security colleagues and Security peers globally to identify trends across security markets and continuously share best practice. 

Represent International SOS Consulting
•    Represent International SOS Consulting in professional forums and in the media on our three consulting pillars (Crisis Management, TRM and Information)
•    Support the design, promotion, and delivery of marketing & thought leadership materials relevant to consulting security clients in your region.
•    Author thought leadership / white papers on topics that are relevant to our clients' (including for specific market sectors and business industries) operating environments and risk profiles.
•    Develop strong peer networks through associations, contacts and working relationships with clients. Actively participate in association events, continually advocating for International SOS Consulting
•    Be the voice of security within International SOS Consulting, providing insight on trends, themes, and areas of focus.

Additional Responsibilities 
•    Identify, supervise, and retain a diverse team of security professionals – including external consultants - capable of delivering a range of security consulting solutions in support of our clients. 
•    As required, support the Intl.SOS Consulting global security and consulting leadership team. 
•    Advocate for North America clients through localisation and driving innovation of services. 
•    Provide local market, customer, and competitor insight. 
•    Prepare for, and actively participate in Consulting Practice and Security Services calls and projects, forums, events, and meetings when and where appropriate. 
•    Regional and international travel as required. 

Job Profile

Required Skills and Knowledge 
•    Strong demonstratable understanding of security and risk mitigation concepts (analysis, risk assessment, business continuity, training, etc.). 
•    People management; demonstrated cross cultural management experience in multiple countries across Europe advantageous. 
•    Effective communication skills. 
•    Effective report writing skills. 
•    Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills. 
•    Experience in high or extreme risk environments advantageous.

Desirable Work Experience 
•    10+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: crisis management, emergency management, risk management, continuity of operations, business continuity, resilience, geospatial analytics, intelligence, travel risk management, military, police, intelligence, NGO, disaster management or relevant field of academia. 
•    Demonstrable Risk and Crisis management experience in High-Risk environments; appropriate certification advantageous. 
•    Delivery of consulting tasks in various countries. 
•    Experience in managing external consultants. 
•    Business development related experience advantageous. 
•    Extensive international travel experience.
•    Experience living and working abroad in a consulting capacity.
 
Qualifications 
•    Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Crisis Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, Risk Management, Economics, Political Science, Geography, Geospatial Intelligence, or related field
•    Preferred Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in security, politics, international relations, law enforcement, criminal science, disaster management or related field.

•    Fluent in English; second language preferable
