Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the and working closely with VP Finance, Consulting and Practice Director, US Practice, the Accountant role will be responsible for the financial controls and processes, ensuring accuracy of the financial data for International SOS Consulting, Inc. (CHM) entity, working in conjunction with the Shared Services Centre (GSS). The position will also be responsible for providing audit support, preparing complex accruals, CAPEX management, tax expense calculation, working capital and cash management, including invoicing and collecting account receivables. The position will also be responsible for maintaining effective communication with the finance representatives and other key stakeholders of the different locations rolling up under the primary Consulting entities as well H3S and MSBL regions, to ensure a timely and accurate financial process. This role is key to partner with Practice Director, US Practice to equip US Practice leadership with all necessary and relevant financial information and support to make sound operational and financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

•    Provide timely financial reports and analytics to Practice Director, US Practice with regards to US Practice performance, including outlooks, budgets and forecasts 
•    Accomplish ad-hoc tasks that is requested by Practice Director, US Practice
•    Support VP Finance, Consulting and Practice Director, US Practice with regards to major projects pricing, profitability analysis and submissions to HQ
•    Responsible for the review of the overall financials of the LE during the monthly and year end close process to ascertain accuracy. 
•    Manage the relationship with the external auditors and prepare for annual audit.
•    Coordination and review of all critical accounting transactions processed by the shared services function.
•    Contract management and timely invoicing through close communication with GSS and regular update on information.
•    Oversight and monthly control of the Balance Sheet, including intercompany balances ensuring processes are in place to avoid risk of misstatement.
•    Response to and resolution of queries from Corporate Finance, Taxation and other Intl. SOS entities on accounting related matters 
•    Assist and liaise with other Finance functions within the Consulting Region to ensure complete ownership of the primary entity’s financial data and to provide better financial visibility to the Finance VP, Consulting 
•    Control and drive working capital and cashflow for International SOS Consulting, Inc, including billing and AR collections.
•    Documentation of workflows and continuous improvement of cycle (inclusive contribution on process improvement with GSS)
•    Work closely with MSBL HQ Finance and VP Finance, Consulting on financial control, forex, tax and technical reporting requirement

 

Accounting
•    Ensure accurate and timely financial information is produced for management and legal entity accounting purposes.
•    Assist with the preparation of complex accruals.
•    Oversee the CAPEX recording, reporting and tracking process. 

 

Standards and Controls
•    Ensure compliance with General Affairs Policy and Procedures (GAPP) 
•    Ensure compliance in accounting / reporting treatments in line with Group requirements

 

Tax and Related
•    Responsible for the accurate calculation and review of the monthly tax 
•    Assist in tax related projects, as applicable.

Required Skills and Knowledge 
•    Familiarity with IFRS
•    Advanced Excel skills
•    Familiarity with ERP systems, including data mining and report retrieval. 
•    Good written and oral communication
•    Analytical skills to provide detailed and valuable business analysis to management.
•    Able to work under pressure, deliver results and observe deadline.

 

Required Competencies

•    Ability to research and successfully gather all the required/relevant information relating to a client and/or individual/contact to support each stage of the sales process

 

Required Work Experience 
•    At least 3 years of working experience in a Big 4 Accounting Firm preferred.
•    At least 2 years of MNC experience in accounting functions
•    Must have demonstrated success in driving efficiency and productivity and managing/leading change.
•    Operated successfully in a fast-paced environment with a matrix reporting structure.

 

Desirable Qualifications
•    Accounting related certification or related field
