Job Description

The Site Liaison Manager ensures day-to-day operations can be performed as per contractual agreement. Site Liaison Managers are responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and supervising the site staff, stations, equipment, and emergencies for the assigned shifts, including Fire/Rescue Captains and Physician Assistants.

As the assigned leader the SLM is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the site emergency response teams involving the medical clinic, fire/rescue operations, and related emergency and support services:

  • Provides strategic, administrative, and technical expertise; management and direction as per departmental and operational requirements, including implementation of Intl.SOS and client policies and procedures. 
  • Prepares site/departmental reports and budgets.
  • Develops and implement multi-divisional training programs
  • Schedules maintenance of fire/rescue/medical apparatus, equipment and facilities.
  • Assists in staff planning, recruitment, performance assessment and development.
  • Has a commitment to continuous improvement through performance measurement to improve operational activities to provide quality of care and customer service.
  • Acts as a change agent to create a positive organizational climate in which each member of the team feels valued, appreciated, motivated, and empowered to contribute to the success of the operations. 

Qualification

  • Previous leadership, management and customer service experience
  • Previous experience and demonstrated understanding of logistics surrounding remote sites deployment.
  • Appropriate experience and understanding of the Intl.SOS Medical Services working environment.
  • A thorough and professional working knowledge of the site/s and staff working on the site/s and their rotational requirements.
  • Knowledge of the specific functions of the Fire/Rescue and Medical Services departments.
  • Knowledge of the specific functions of support departments.
  • Punctuality and good work attendance.
  • A high level of customer service orientation and commitment at all times.
  • Excellent teamwork, enthusiasm and the development of relationships that promote a high level of trust and integrity within the team and towards other departments and site staff.
  • Good PC skills (Word, Excel, International SOS applications and SharePoints).
  • Excellent Problem solving skills.
  • A high level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team to maximize the quality of deliverables and services.
  • Data Accuracy.

Additional Information

An extensive background in the field of Fire/Rescue and Emergency Medical Services is required.

  • 14 days on/14 days off rotational work schedule
  • On-site camp living (meals and accommodations provided)
  • Remote clinic environment (2 hours North of Fort McMurray)
  • Fly in fly out from either Edmonton or Calgary
