Purpose of Job
Performs emergency and non-emergency duties under the direction of the ERT Captain of an assigned emergency response team.
Key Responsibilities
· Complete daily tasks and assignments under the direction of the ERT Captain of the assigned emergency response team.
· Maintain a respectful work environment by demonstrating positive workplace behaviour.
· Comply with company policies regarding code of conduct, uniform, dress, and appearance.
· Attend required meetings including daily start-of-shift meetings.
· Participate in emergency response team training.
· Complete required fire and rescue training courses.
· Complete required International SOS continuing education modules.
· Participate in continuing medical education provided by International SOS.
· Prepare and assist with medical training for the assigned emergency response team.
· Assist with the onboarding of new hires by acting as a mentor to those members as they work towards the completion of their induction package.
· Perform inspections and maintenance of fire, rescue, and EMS apparatus, equipment, and other client assets.
· Maintain the cleanliness of fire, rescue, and EMS apparatus, equipment and facilities.
· Keep up to date with site-specific fire and rescue guidelines and procedures, medical protocols,rescue plans, and pre-incident plans.
· Perform administrative duties that may be requested by the ERT Captain of the assigned team.
· Ensure International SOS is represented in a positive and professional manner when interacting with the client and other contractors on site.
· Maintain standards of practice consistent with the governing regulatory body.
· Operate within the boundaries of his or her practice permit or license.
· Carry out tasks assigned by the officer-in-charge of emergency response team operations.
· Ensure his or her tasks are performed in accordance with International SOS Fire and Rescue emergency operations policies and guidelines.
· Identify emergency scene hazards and report those hazards to the incident commander or the ERT Captain.
· Complete tactical assignments and ensure the plan of action is followed in a safe and efficient manner.
· Ensure assigned tasks are within their own scope and capabilities.
· Participate in the post-incident analysis or debrief.
· When required, participate in the incident investigation.
About You
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
• Work experience as a EMR/Firefighter
• NFPA 1001, NFPA 1002, NFPA 472, NFPA 1006
• Exceptional collaboration with other groups and the ability to work under pressure
• Current registration with BC Board
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Preference for:
• Experience in an industrial setting
• A high level of knowledge and the ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
• Hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
• You will work out of our camp-based client sites. Accommodations & meals provided
• The working schedule varies from 2 weeks on to 2 weeks off to 3 weeks on 3 weeks off
• On-call and extended hours may be required after hours when operational and business requirements indicate
