Job Description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinating Doctor to join us in a dynamic office based clinical role where you will expand your medical and clinical knowledge whilst working across an international platform. You will be providing medical support to a worldwide client base across a variety of industries, focusing on quality, patient contact and, above all, care. 


This role is responsible for delivering professional, effective medical assistance services for clients of International SOS to the highest standards of excellence in conjunction with Regional Medical Director (RMD), Medical Directors (MDs), and Coordinator Nurses (CN).


This role will be located in our Trevose, PA office location.

You're typical day would be:

  • Receive and assess relevant medically related calls received from clients.
  • Collect logistical, medical and collateral histories pertaining to the medical event/incident. 
  • Provide telephone medical assessment and consultation to designated patients in all parts of the world, assess and monitor the appropriateness of the treatment where they are located.
  • Provide medical assessment and consultation by LiveChat to members in all parts of the world, assess and monitor the appropriateness of the treatment where they are located.
  • Developing and enhancing your understanding of global and travel health, and providing pre-trip travel advice to travelers.
  • Interpreting medical situations by conducting a tailored risk analysis of condition vs geographical location.
  • Giving telephonic advice to patients, relatives, employers, employees, insurance companies and other key stakeholders.
  • Obtaining medical reports, organizing referrals, monitoring the patient’s conditions, recommending appropriate means of medical transportation, and monitoring progress.
  • Liaising with international medical professionals to obtain medical assessments for patients who are hospitalized or being treated overseas.
  • Arranging complex medical evacuations and repatriations from all over the world.
  • Acting as a medical escort when required for appropriate medical cases.
  • Working within a truly international team – we have offices in 27 different countries you will interface with daily.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years post-graduation clinical medical experience.
  • Board certified.
  • Full current registration to practice medicine in Pennsylvania or elsewhere within the USA.
  • BLS/ACLS certifications are required to be current.
  • Family, Emergency, Internal, or ICU Medical background strongly preferred.
  • Assistance Medicine (desirable).
  • Aviation Medicine (desirable).
  • Remote Area Medicine (desirable).
  • Tele-Medicine (desirable).
  • Spanish strongly preferred.

Shift Rotation:

  • This role will work either 4 x 10 hour shifts or 3 x 13 hour shifts.
  • Required to work one weekend a month
