About the role

THE ROLE 

Servicing corporate, governmental, and non-governmental clients globally, International SOS, a pioneer & leader in International Health & Security Risk provides tailored support through our 27 Assistance Centres worldwide. As a Security Specialist, Assistance you will join a fast paced role providing or supporting the delivery of professional and effective security assistance services for clients of International SOS by addressing the security threats and risk challenges. 

As part of our organisation's mandate, our security teams provide support to major world crises from 9-11 incident in New York to the war crisis in Ukraine and furthermore. The role provides opportunities to work first hand in such global scenarios and in regional concerns. 

WORK TIMINGS 

  • Rotating roster, 13-hour shifts, no night shifts 

Key responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Deliver high-quality security risk assessments, advice, and the coordination of security assistance on a profile and itinerary-specific basis to travellers, international assignees, domestic nationals, and client risk managers. 

  • Receive and assess all security related calls and ascertain the assistance requirements of Intl.SOS clients. 

  • Give security advice to callers, employers, employees and organise appropriate security assistance accordingly. 

  • Contribute to operational readiness by carrying out tasking to maintain and develop the security provider network and internal Concepts of Operations. 

  • Coordinate and oversee responses to security requests for assistance, including the production of Plans of Action (POA) for specific Requests for Information (RFAs) as required. 

About you

EXPERIENCE 

  • Proven experience in security intelligence or related field: military, government, NGO, journalism; relevant academic studies. 

  • Risk and Crisis management experience in geo-political scenarios covering ANZ and Pacific regions is required  

  • International work experience, including in more challenging risk environments, is  desired. 

  • Experience working in a customer/client focused role, is desired.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to explain complex situations to non-expert audiences. 

  • Ability to critically analyse multiple streams of information under time pressure. 

  • Demonstrated experience in the application of risk assessments. 

  • Minimum requirement of degree level (or relevant professional taring) in a field related to security, risk management, international politics or international relations.
