About the role
This hybrid-work consultancy/contractor role is project-driven and focuses on psycho-social hazard assessment, risk mitigation and evidence-based review of the wellness agenda. You will work across a diverse client base, with a particular focus on blue collar and high-risk industry environments, including construction, mining, and resources sectors, where the psychosocial demands on workers are uniquely complex and the need for expert support is critical.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver psychological support programs and risk mitigation strategies in the area of workplace psychosocial hazards, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced in physically demanding and high-risk work environments
- Provide expert advice to clients on organisational psychology topics, including those specific to blue collar workforces, remote site operations, and shift-based work cultures
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees, managers, and team leaders to monitor, manage and improve the mental health of employees including frontline workers, supervisors, and site leadership teams in field-based settings
- Support the development and implementation of guidance documents for employer wellness programs tailored to the needs of construction, mining, and resources industry clients
- Co-operate with management in its fulfilment of regulatory obligations to WH&S (psychosocial) legislation, with awareness of sector-specific compliance requirements
About you
- Minimum of 4 years post-registration experience as an organisational psychologist or equivalent
- Proven experience with development and delivery of psychological support programs related to workplace psychological hazards and/or travel-related risk assessment
- Ability to travel domestically, including to remote or site-based locations if required
- Exposure to and experience working within blue collar industries and workforce environments
- Demonstrated understanding of the cultural and psychological dynamics unique to trade, labour, and field-based workforces
- Prior experience in the construction and/or mining sectors is highly regarded — whether in a direct clinical, consulting, or advisory capacity
- Full working rights in Australia, based in Sydney or Melbourne
