Provide unparalleled strategic planning advisory services to key stakeholders, leveraging technical expertise and strategic insight to enhance Nauru's health system and service delivery.
The Role
The Health Sector Strategic Planning Advisor will play a vital role in guiding the development of strategic plans for Nauru’s Department of Health and Medical Services (DHMS) and the Department of Public Health (DPH). Key Tasks include:
• Support a comprehensive assessment of the health system, including policy reviews, data analysis, and identification of key opportunities and challenges.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement to build consensus and ownership.
• Provide support in the formulation of Nauru’s vision, goals, strategic objectives, and priority interventions aligned with national and global health agendas.
• Lead the drafting of the 2026-2030 Health and Public Health Strategic Plans.
Requirements
• + 10 years’ work experience in health policy, health administration or public health.
• Experience developing national or subnational health sector strategic plans
• Degree in public health, health economics, health policy or a related field – with strong academic grounding in health systems and strategic planning.
• Knowledge of global health priorities and frameworks
• Experience in costing, budgeting and resource mapping
• Strong writing and communication skills
