The Role
The Nauru- Australia Health Partnership Program – Raña Tsimorum (Look after your life) is a 10-year bilateral investment from the Australian Government to support the Nauru Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) to deliver the health components of Nauru’s National Sustainable Development Strategy 2019-2030, seeking to strengthen the health system to respond effectively to health threats, better meet the population’s healthcare needs and significantly improve health outcomes. Raña Tsimorum has 3 focus areas – Health System Strengthening, Health Service Delivery and Inclusive Health.
The Rana Tsimorum Asset Maintenance and Operations Adviser will play a vital role in guiding Maintenance Planning and Operational Processes at the Republic of Nauru (RoN) Hospital. Key duties include:
- Conduct an assessment of existing infrastructure & vehicle maintenance practices
- Develop a preventive maintenance plan complete with assessment of available funding, long list priorities and costed recommendations.
- Develop and deliver capacity development training for key areas of improvement based on the Rapid Needs Assessment.
- Analyse existing operational workflows (between hospitals buildings and functions) to identify inefficiencies and recommendations/ opportunities to optimize patient care.
- Recommend digital tools for workflow automation and data-driven decision making.
- Provide training and capacity-building sessions for staff on best practices

Requirements
- Degree in any built environment displace and/or applicable trade - such as Architecture, Project Management, Engineering etc
- Minimum 7 years of experience in health infrastructure asset management in the Pacific.
- Familiarity with hospital infrastructure asset management and maintenance– including within a Pacific/ Nauru or low resource/ remote setting.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and reporting to various donor standards.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning and report writing skills.
- Strong knowledge of applicable assets management standards in the health sector.
