Senior Medical Officers - Saudi Arabia

 

As International SOS' footprint continues to grow in Saudi Arabia, continuous opportunities begin to arise for medical doctors who are a Consultant/Specialist/Senior Registrar in their field of specialization.

 

At this point in time, International SOS is looking for such doctors that would be interested in joining their Saudi Arabia medical team and therefore, willing to participate in a pre-placement interview with a view to being contacted once an opportunity arises.

 

Positions are mostly based on a rotational basis of 8 weeks on duty followed by 4 weeks off duty.  

 

Economy flights, accommodation, meals coupled with all the necessary remote site insurances are provided.

 

Overall Purpose of the Job 

The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) will be responsible for the planning, organization, controlling and supervision of all activities and services carried out by medical departments at the client's main site and satellite clinics.  They will be accountable for establishing standards for, and ensuring the delivery of, safe and quality medical care and services.

The Senior Medical Officer will be responsible and accountable to the Executive management for the clinical performance of the medical staff and their professional conduct.

(To note that once a position arises, and if offered, the process to be licensed to practice in Saudi Arabia, can take up to 3 months.)

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered to medically practice in country of origin/residence.
  • Consultant/Specialist/Senior Registrar doctor in the field of their specialization.
  • Post graduate degree in the field of Emergency Medicine recommended.
  • Must hold a valid ACLS (AHA) or be prepared to obtain at own cost if selected.
  • Must hold a valid ATLS or be prepared to obtain at own cost if selected.
  • Previous experience in managing Medical Services or similar administrative role.
  • Experience in medical team management.
  • Ability of setting up and managing the educational and training programs.
  • Experience in managing medical evacuations would benefit.
  • Previous remote site experience highly desirable
  • English is essential (written & verbal)
  • Arabic will be an additional advantage.
  • Must be IT Literate.
