About the role


We are currently looking for a Nurse Team Lead (known internally as a Near Patient Nurse Team Lead) to deliver our Near Patient Program in Romania, supporting our TRICARE contract. They will have the responsibility to manage an in-country team of Near Patient Nurses based in Constanta and the surrounding areas. The Near Patient Nurse Team Lead is a key member of the TRICARE in country medical service delivery team and will take on roles such as mentoring new employees, taking the lead on projects and working closely with in-country Near Patient management personnel. 


The Nurse Team Lead will ensure that the Near Patient Nurses will work collaboratively with the local providers, the Regional TRICARE Overseas Program team, and Host Nation Care Coordinator to manage the episode of care keeping the patient at the center of all considerations. 


Key responsibilities


  • When required provide comprehensive patient clinical case management for a Beneficiary. Completing status reports upon admission and according to contractual requirements or acuity whilst the patient remains admitted to the provider. 
  • In the pursuit of medical updates, the Near Patient Nurse Team Lead may visit the provider, or assist with calling providers or treating doctors for medical information for geographically remote cases as required.
  • Upon discharge, work when required with the Near Patient Medical Records Collection Team to obtain the discharge summary and hospital records from the provider.
  • Establish and maintain the relationship with the provider; leveraging these relationships for clinical, quality and formal reports, attending Hospital Governance meetings as enabled and seeking access and data to inform quality assurance of the provider.
  • Support Near Patient Quality Assurance Leads as requested such as obtaining medical records.
  • Attend and host Near Patient Medical Team staff meetings.
  • Build positive and effective relationships with local network providers (medical and administrative representatives), and with local TRICARE Point of Contacts and members of expeditionary forces medical providers.
  • Supporting the in-country Near Patient Physician Lead as a point of integration/coordination and continuity for the rotationally aligned forces with host nation providers
  • When required plan, execute and write up site audits, obtaining provider credentials to assess and document provider scope, safety and quality of service.
  • Support evidenced accurate assessments and review of providers including the scope of medical capabilities, the safety and quality of care provided by these providers. Evidencing safety assessment with quality metrics as available.
  • Deal positively with complaints, resolving these wherever possible on a timely basis, and/or referring them to the appropriate department or the Near Patient Quality Assurance Lead. 
  • Identify areas where training that can improve overall productivity of the services being rendered.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or client information (HIPAA and GDPR compliance)
  • Maintain accurate records including statistical information and client reports using the computer system made available by the organization. 

About you


  • Registered General Nurse or equivalent with minimum 5 years of experience with registration to practice in country of work
  • Recognized qualification to minimum diploma level or equivalence in practice demonstrated through portfolio/CV
  • A demonstrable commitment to professional development
  • Experience of working in accordance with a Code of Professional Conduct (knowledge of confidentiality etc.)
  • Experience of Microsoft Office software 
  • Broad professional Experience of dealing with the public/patients/other health care professionals
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team working in the approach to health care management 
  • Understands the medical culture and organization in host nation country
  • Fluent in Romanian and proficiently in English
