About the role

Facilitate professional, high standard international health assistance services pertaining to international travelers and expatriates overseas for International SOS (Intl.SOS) clients globally. As a key member of the Assistance Team, leverage medical experience and professional knowledge to provide appropriate solutions to Intl. SOS members.

Key responsibilities

Medical Healthcare Coordination (Assistance)

  • Receive calls from various international locations relating to requests for medical assistance abroad and ascertain the assistance requirements of Intl.SOS clients.
  • Facilitate the provision of assistance through referral to accredited medical and technical providers at various international patient locations abroad.
  • Collect as appropriate medical and other relevant health information from international sources and collate updates for Intl.SOS clients.
  • Professionally communicate verbally and/or in writing to relevant parties/clients at various international locations the progress of medical assistance cases.
  • Provide guidance regarding the operational planning and progress of international medical assistance cases.
  • Assist to maintain the Intl.SOS medical transportation standards in facilitating the logistical arrangements of international medical transportations to and from overseas locations.
  • Escalate as per protocol to the Medical Director Singapore or in his/her absence; the duty Medical Director and Corporate Assistance Department (CAD).

 

Client Support & Promotion

  • Participate, under the direction of the Medical Director and General Manager/Marketing Manager in appropriate business development activities, explaining and promoting Intl.SOS’ services to prospective and existing clients.
  • Assist in explaining International SOS medical services to prospective and existing clients as requested.

 

Network Partnership Development

  • Collate information and conduct intermittent review of international medical providers to enhance the Intl.SOS network of medical providers and provide this to the Network Partnership department.

 

Training & Health Education

  • Participate under the direction of the Medical Director and General Manager of Country and in consultation with the Marketing Manager in performing for Clients and potential Clients: o Health education and Health Promotion

About you

  • Medical degree from a recognized University
  • Cross cultural people management
  • Broad medical knowledge with recent clinical or research experience
  • Proven experience in remote regions is desirable
  • Demonstrate cross cultural management experience in multiple countries across South East Asia advantageous
  • Effective communication skills and report writing skills
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Relationship building and strong presentation skills in English
  • Experience in high or extreme risk environments advantageous
  • Regional and international travel dependent on business needs
  • Willingness to work outside of normal duty hours, in support client requirements
