About the role

 

We are currently looking for a Near Patient Physician Lead to join us as our medical lead in Korea for our US Department of Defense contract (TRICARE). This Physician Lead is responsible for and provides clear medical leadership for our Near Patient program which provides end-to-end care experience facilitation for TRICARE patients as they journey through local healthcare providers in selected regions outside the United States. Our Physician Lead will serve as the liaison between the local Near Patient staff, the Military Treatment Facility leadership, and the local healthcare providers we have partnered with.  In this role, the Physician Lead will promote productive dialogue between all listed parties to assure success of the Patient Experience Program. 

 

We are looking for someone ideally located in Pyeongtaek but would also consider Suwon or Seoul.

 

Some national travel will be required with this position, 1-2 days per month.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Support our Near Patient Medical Team (Physicians and Nurses) and facilitate effective positive teamwork
  • Provide regular reports on the status of the program to include any interactions with the Military Treatment Facilities, provider network and International SOS staff as well as any feedback to include compliments, complaints and suggestions from these stakeholders
  • Deliver inpatient medical management
  • Promote and facilitate the education of local healthcare providers regarding International SOS, the US Military health care system and the TOP
  • Promote and facilitate the education of Military Treatment Facility leadership regarding International SOS, TOP, and the Near Patient goals
  • Understand the nuances of local medical care and the US patient expectations of care
  • Ensure that all operational delivery of TOP medical services and patient care across the region coordinated by the medical team meet the appropriate standard of medical quality
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with medical leadership at local healthcare providers
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with medical leadership at Military Treatment Facilities
  • Ensure that all KPI for the delivery of Remote medical services are met

About you

 

  • Medical Doctor with 5 years plus post-graduation experience
  • Senior management experience in leadership function - experience as a Medical Director or within medical management
  • Broad clinical and health care provision experience preferably gained internationally and/or in developing countries within General Practice, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Accident and Emergency, Aviation medicine, Anesthetics, ICU, Tropical Medicine, Aviation Medicine
  • Military health care system experience preferred
  • Experience of managing/coordinating international evacuations a distinct advantage
  • Team and performance management experience at a senior level
  • Client account management experience
  • Business acumen
  • Computer literate
  • Post graduate qualification in assistance focused specialty
  • Full registration to practice medicine
  • Proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in Korean
