Looking for an experienced Psychologist to join a friendly and MDT to provide psychological services to patients affected by trauma.

The Role

You will be part of the mental health team providing advanced psychological skills and services to the clients in Immigration Detention Facility clinic at Villawood, NSW. Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based clinical psychological services through assessment, case formulation and case management, structured interview techniques and therapeutic interventions
  • Clinical leadership and care for patients with mental health trauma issues including assessment and trauma informed formulation to direct care
  • Assessment and diagnosis of major mental illnesses and psychological problems
  • Triage referrals; conduct mental health assessments
  • Ensure high standards of psychological care with one-to-one sessions or group therapy
  • Provide clinical reports to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Full AHPRA medical registration as a Psychologist
  • Minimum of 3 years post registration experience. Detention or corrections experience highly desirable
  • Experience with working with patients with PTSD / torture and trauma / psychological trauma
  • Proven experience with clinical coordination / case management and risk assessment within the mental health environment
  • Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused clinical psychological strategies
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records as well as excel and word programs
